Trying too. Apparently Port refusing clearance as owes two years worth of subs.

Woodville been targeting quite a few players, just need to be careful the ones they get have the right character!

H31 you sceptic. I can imagine the conversation.
Hoffy - no subs while playing here mate. - clearance please going to Woodville - you have to pay your subs mate.
How many left of a premiership team 2 years ago, tell me what has changed down that way.

PALMERSTON cricketer Joshua Hoffman’s form hasn’t gone unnoticed this season, with the all-rounder set for an Emerging Redbacks call-up.

Hoffman is leading the way for the Power in his debut season, scoring 273 runs at 45.5 to go with nine wickets at 23.33.

And the South Australian has been urged by Emerging Redbacks and former NTIS coach Shane McDermott to keep doing what he’s doing to earn a spot in the squad.

“Macca said there would be a good chance I’d be back in the squad if I kept my form going up here which is good news,” Hoffman said.

“I was in the squad two years in a row and got a lot out of it.

“It’s good quality training with better players and if you make runs, you’ll play Futures League.”

With the success of former Palmerston all-rounder Ben Turley in both Darwin and Adelaide in the past 12 months, Hoffman thought he’d give it a try in the NT.

“People that come up here for a season usually go back to Adelaide and go really well, so I thought I’d give it a go,” he said.

“Tom Andrews and Joel Logan are other examples of Darwin players doing well down south.”

One thing Hoffman is desperate to improve is converting starts to big scores.

The 21-year-old — who has represented SA from under-13s to under-19s — has three half-centuries to his name this season, but is yet to reach triple-figures.

“I should have three hundreds to my name, but it’s just all about patience up here,” he said.

“The decks aren’t quite as flat as Adelaide and the bowling is a bit slower.”

As for next summer’s SACA grade competition, the hard-hitting opener has put in a clearance from Port Adelaide to Woodville.

The Peckers — last season’s first grade two-day grand finalists — have an array of Territory talent including Tom Andrews (Darwin Eagles) and Palmerston product Alex Bleakley.

Turley also plies his trade at Woodville.

But for now, it’s all about helping the Power climb up the premier grade ladder after a tough month.

“We’ve still got seven or eight games to go so there’s no reason why we can’t play finals,” he said.

“We’ve lost a few players through work so we need to get some depth back in the side.

“We need to get some good partnerships going and spend more time out in the middle.”

Fair few of these types of rumours getting about at the minute.

Glenelg and West Torrens talking?
Woodville and West Torrens talking?
Woodville and Port Adelaide talking?
Prospect and University talking?

University are behind the 8 Ball before we even start a review with no Juniors to speak of.

Rumours for this season is there is a number of clubs unhappy with the proposed schedule. Premier League is again delaying the Start of the club season until mid October. Makes the programming difficult when Easter is in the last weekend of March in 2016 and possibly an over reaction to some issues that a minority of clubs experienced last season.

If the Premier Leaugue is just that, and was put in place to have the best against the best to improve SA cricket, then the clubs need to just suck it up and get on with whatever is thrown at them in the draw.
Simple.

PL is dead. This is the last year of going through the motions and id suggest a fair few blokes wont register. Last year blokes who ended up playing B and C grade were playing in PL games. Complete waste of time, money and resources!

Then we get into the SANFL debate about integrity and compromised draws...

Given the performances of the Redbacks since this concept has been in place I doubt the cost benefit analysis of First Class performances isn't going to be exactly glowing.....

Wasn't the idea always that the 4 team PL and the 13 team Grade comp meet somewhere in the middle?

Where are the rumours of the 10 team competition coming from?
