Anyone know what the ladders are for the T20 and One Day competition after this round? Also, what happens to the teams allocated a bye in those competitions?

Will try and work out once all scores in and bit more time.

Basically, they work it out on percentage of games played. So a team that wins 3 and loses 1 has 75%, gets in ahead of a team with 3 wins and 2 losses and 60%.

With West Torrens, if we win the 20/20 on Tuesday against Prospect (without Drew away with Second X1 and Fisher away :( ) and then the One day game on Saturday against Southerns, we would be 4 wins and 1 loss, 80%, and should therefore make semis in both. Lose them and be 3-2, 60% and come down to run rates which you do not want!

How close is Corey(?) Kelly to ever getting a red backs call up.

Statistically seems a pretty decent all rounder

Apologies if in the wrong thread with this one - 2nd X1 4-day game in Tasmania (playing at Clarence CC)
Stumps Day 1
SA all out 252
Lehmann 130
C Kelly 53

TAS 2/44
C Kelly 2/4

I would think he'd at least be in the conversation for the white ball stuff - although if he was from NSW he'd be in the whole season!!
PS - thanks SACA for letting us that may have an interest know about this game - not!!

Good for it to be in our own hands! Fingers crossed for a couple of wins tonight and on the weekend! Seems there are some young batsman stepping up at times this year and Capel and Fisher consistent to help out Drew.

Would rather that than have it taken away by having the bye. Uni and Sturt disadvantaged in the One Day comp and Kensington and Glenelg disadvantaged in the T20 comp by the look of it.

Would the T20 ladder be up to date? If so looks like semi finals are:

University vs Woodville
East Torrens vs Kensington

Interesting rumour doing the Grade circles, SACA just very keen to get to 12 teams next season, worry about getting to ten teams down the track (too hard to get three mergers done so quickly).

Two Clubs apparently well down the path of agreeing to merge next season, with an announcement even likely within two weeks. No idea who the two teams are though. If had to guess, Prospect and Uni makes most sense.

For me going down to 12 teams and then saying that they will do more later is literally a waste of time. If they do this there must be other changes otherwise we will all be talking about entering "ex-cricekters name here" report in 5 years time again stating that changes to the grade system need to occur when there are still 12 teams in the comp.

Agree with all that Smokey. Is a massive amount of work involved getting a merger completed, and is all a big rush for next year. If we can at least get rid of the Bye next season, then get two more mergers done over the next 12 months to get to ten teams for 2022/23, I think that is a good plan.

12 teams would be great.

13 rounds reduced to 11 rounds. Easier to fit the matches in. If it's Uni + Prospect then seniors and juniors has the same number of teams so the draws can run parallel.

If the Redbacks' performances improve a bit then further merger chat tends to go quiet.

How did the one day table finish up? Hasn't been updated on MyCricket.

Semi finals

University vs West Torrens or Glenelg (both finished 3-2, run rates look close)

Kensington vs East Torrens in the other semi

Kensington vs Uni in 20/20 Grand Final tonight. Both easy winners of Semis.

Lots of tension in Kens vs ET match.

If SACA do not suspend Jake Lehmann for several matches they are as weak as pi55!! Clearly by the vision he spat in David Grant’s face when he ran him out. Just the reaction of the players confirm it. He has form as did it to one of our players last year. You are a dirty pig Lehmann, your career is over, head off into the sunset mate!!

Watch vision of his dismissal on SACA Match Centre to judge for yourselves!

Was watching along on the live stream and did think that it looked like he spat on the bowler. Like you said the Kensington players didn’t look happy at all. He’d be looking at a few games minimum for that wouldn’t he?

Have to be three games minimum. Should not be playing when they meet again in a fortnight in One day Semi. David Grant is great young lad, they are both still contracted Redbacks (both will be de listed), so should be interesting how SACA handle it!

Uni win in a canter against Kensy in GF.

Word from Kensington players re Jake Lehmann incident, he spat the chewy he had in his mouth at David Grant, landed about a foot in front of him. Obviously not as bad as spitting at someone, but still think not a great look.

Saw that as well - no wonder the Kensi players were angry. Interesting that they were teammates during the week in Tas with the 2ND X1. Let's see what "leadership" SACA/Grade Cricket Committee/whoever is responsible take on this.
Speaking of de-listings - I have heard there's going to be a big clean out at the end of the season.

Heard both Conor McInerney and Brad Davis both been told won’t be around next year, that’s why they were not selected in Second X1 team in Tassie last week. Heard the same about lots of de listings, Dizzy Gillespie having big say in who he wants next year which is fair enough, no longer Tim Neilson in control picking all his dud mates of his son. Mentioned before that Conway and Renshaw both saying they will be with Redbacks next season.

Was always on the cards I guess.

Dizzy inherited a squad, had minimal say in it. Would have had to eat some contracts. Now has seen the group up close so will be better placed to make some calls.

The squad itself is at an interesting stage too. Players who have been the nucleus of our one day/four day team for quite a few years (Ferguson, Cooper, Lehmann, Head, Sayers, Worrall, Mennie, Richardson, Zampa) are now either getting close to the end, have ended up elsewhere, are out of favour, are tied up with international stuff etc.

There are opportunities there but there doesn't seem to be a group of younger players pushing for selection who can step in. Do we recruit? Give a bunch of locals a chance?

Perfect opportunity to give some young players a chance to see what they're made of - heck we will probably lose anyway so why not blood some youngsters and give them some experience. You never know, one or two of them may just do well.
Renshaw yes, not sure about Conway - he seems a bit of a space cadet. Someone like McAndrew or Hatcher look good though.
