Lets get it started. I am very excited to be apart of this association this season. Looking forward to the challenges ahead. As a club [SANDY CREEK] we are looking forward to it too. I am sure every club in the comp will want to knock us off and make us earn our stripes . Which is fair enough.

Can't wait look forward to it as i said and bring it on

the minor premier and the premier or grand finalist will go up each year and the bottom 2 will go down

What association does Owen play in?
It's interesting to see South Gawler in A1R, I had someone telling me that they are going out there for a bit of coin this season, would this be likely?

Their team nominations would suggest not.

A2, but my understanding is they didnt nominate for A1's, suggesting they didnt think they were ready to play A1's again.

Well if the bloke that told me he's getting some coin to play out there wasn't talking poo they wont be ready next season either. He was a reasonable div 4 or 5 player in the PDCA. I have known him to stretch the truth occaisionally.

Its only a educated guess, but I'd suggest A1 BLCA is a few steps above div 4 PDCA, so I'd gues hes being a little liberal with the truth.

He sells himself pretty well though. I guess Sandy Creek will give us a fair indication of the standards between the two comps.

True.
Mind you when Centrals and South came across they both sold themselves as being very strong in PDCA. I dont remember what div's they were playing in when they came across though.

Sandy Creek seem to have their shit in order though, so I'm thinking they should be a stronger club than either of the Gawler sides were when they came over. Generally they have struggled to be competitve in A1's since coming over with (I think) one finals appearance (by South) in their years of BLCA.

South Gawler won division 2 in their final season of PDCA, they were pretty ordinary though, Eastern Park had a bad day and lost what they should've won easily. At that time SGCC were held together by about 3 good players, Hilly held their batting together and they were light on in the bowling department.
SGCC were lucky to be in the top 4, we should've knocked them off both times that year but got sucked in trying to smash their spinners out of the park as we had to play one-dayers twice against them due to weather.
I can't remember what year GCCC went across, the last I remember from them they were struggling big time in Grade 2, once Kingy and Ben Dieckmann were out, the show was over.
At least Sandy Creek were competitive in Grade 1 last season, I'm sure even they'd admit that they under-achieved, they will be a good measuring stick.

Hilly is still going around - he transferred across from South to us (Light Pass) last season and did really well with the bat ... also a good person to have around the place.

Great bloke and player, he's stuck on 99 games for us with 3223 runs, great btsman to watch.

I'm pretty sure Gccc were bottom of Div 2 the year they went to BLCA and were going down to div 3. As for south, teams from Div 2 coming up to div 1 it seems that one of the sides has done well and made the finals and the other team being promoted has been very ordinary, always hard to judge hopefully with a few inclusion this season we hope our side will be stronger then last season but who knows with injury and form.
