ACCC-BAROSSA VALLEY 2009-SPORTSMANS NIGHT & 20/20

the australian country cricket championships are being held in the barossa valley from january 4th-13th, featuring teams from sth aust, vic, nsw, qld. wa and east asia pacific. the venues beig used are tanunda, nuriootpa, kapunda, stockwell and eudunda. all venues have 1st class turf wickets so if your not doing much get along and support the sth australian outbacks.
there is a sportsmans night at the vine inn hotel in nuriootpa on saturday jan 10th at 8pm at a cost of $25. guest speakers include greg blewett, greg matthews and steve rixon, other former test players will also be in attendance. pm me if u would like to arrange a ticket.
on sunday the 11th of january there will be a junior coaching clinic at tanunda oval commencing at 10am for kids aged between 7 and 14. this will be followed by a 20/20 game between the australian cricketers association masters and the best of the country players from all states commencing at 12 30pm at the same venue. admission is $5 for adults kids free. there will be food and refreshments available
the masters side will feature recently retired players michael divenuto, mick lewis, ryan campbell, greg blewett, wayne holdsworth, darren berry

Thanks for posting this up mate, I'm gonna sneak down for a looksie for a few days. Just out of curiosity, what sort of nick are the decks in at the moment? And are they conducive to seamers or spinners. Just interested to gauge whether the wickets are likely to be spin-friendly or helpful to the seamers and what the likely composition of the teams will be bowling-wise. It'd be good to see some quality spinners in action if the decks suit.

If possible, could you give me a rough idea of what each of the ovals are like regarding spin-friendly vs seam-friendly, and where would the program be found? cheers mate! ;)

not sure who is in the complete squad but from the barossa there is rob johnson (captain), boh wall (vc), james vandeleur, ben parish and trent burge

Full SA side and draw for the carnival in the Advertiser today. On top of what daysofourlives has put I know there is Corey Knight and Stewart Willis from Murray Towns, Rohan Reid from Hills and Travis Bahr from Southern - from memory..
