Greenacres Oval, not the one of Gnd Junction Rd, one on Manoora Street, seemed to be the only place I could get alot of runs at over the years

Out of the 15 or so grounds I've played at Mt Pleasant (which isnt even used any more) and Woodside would be favourite, for personal reasons plus good ground conditions.

Played on plently of bads ones: Eden valley, Cambrai, Palmer, Springton, Houghton

Spot on Youngster, Albrecht oval is magnificent to play especially a week after the rains, the greenery of the Centralian desert agaisnt the red background of the Western McDonald ranges is just a sensational view.

Who did you play for up in Alice?

Used to love keeping at the Northern end lookng up at those ranges.

Albrecht is good but for a saltwater man like myself the best place I've played cricket is Kahlin oval Darwin home of the Mighty Darwin Eagles

Standing at the Temira Cres end you look back over the Cullen Bay Marina, 20 years ago 30 m from Deep Mid On boundary was the beach. Between the boundary was a row of casuarina and palm trees.

Nothing better than watching the sun go down over the marina in the afternoon session at eh end of teh day we bring out the deck chairs onto the ground (deep mid wicket) and have a few quiet ones in the twilight whilst holding the fines session.....

If you don't believe me check out teh photos in the link.....

Ahh I miss those days in Darwin.

St Peters No. 1 ground is magnificent with the old buildings/stand around the ground....as for country grounds, I enjoyed playing at Goolwa, Meadows and the more bizzare Basket Range and Forest Range!!!

Saintal - I played a Courier Cup game at Springton years ago...interesting ground!

Love playing at Berri. Waikerie's pretty good, if you can be on the winning side - fast outfield, pacy deck.

Enjoyed playing at Campbelltown.

Worst ever: Gerard!

How about Paracombe or Birdwood High School? Or Woodside no2, Mt Torrens School and Lobey Lutheran school ovals where 500 a day is par score?

Houghton's only bad if you're bowling :D. Always enjoyed playing at Cambrai, even though not the best oval.

Yeah, i forgot a couple didnt i? :) I havent played at Paracombe since it's been relaid but it used to be terrible. I've never had to bowl up the ramp at BHS but that wouldnt be fun. Cricket should never be played on Lobey Luth and Woodside #2 :D

Plently of bad ovals up my way.

Oh and another Prospect for the now defunct Roosters Vs Prospect or whoever it was, was pretty good to field on, even if I was just picking up and echo of beer :D

Our home Ground at Mt Lofty....one of our blokes got his laser level out at training and measured the drop between wickets....one and a half foot!!!! every bowler gains 2 yards coming down the hill but loses 3 yards up it!

Had half a season with Feds when I first moved up there, then moved to Rovers. Could not resist the lure of wearing double blue!!! Was up there for 4 years/5 cricket seasons from Jan 99 to 03. What was your story?

Albrecht also had a good cricket wicket. Traeger was just slow, low rolled mud most of the time.

Feddies??? Rovers???? not a very good choice of clubs their Youngster.....(Actually Rovers blokes weren't too bad I see Stats is still playing for them and Holby has just left town). OMG we've played against each other.....99 to 02 at Westies (cross that railway line be very very afraid!!!)

Traegar was good for the view too but yeah you needed to give it a decent whack to get it 3/4 to teh boundary way too spongy no value for shots and as you say the deck was terrible...

Heh Heh and you Rovers suffered at the hands of the council watering the pitch/oval on teh Sat night of a Sat/Sun GF?????

LOL Tassie! :D

Yeah I played in that debacle of a GF, it is still a sore point! Managed to snaffle a couple of wickets. We gave the chase a fair crack considering we were probably within our rights to have the game called off... mind you after having you blokes 4 or 5 for not many, with Vowlesy back in the hutch we couldn't finish you off. I think Bryan Manning batted really well that day, he could really play when he was switched on.

Yeah I still keep in contact with what is happening up there. Stats (Fabio) is still running around up there, Holby is up in Darwin as you say. Will prob catch up with him at some stage when I get up there in Feb for a weeks holiday. Should be good!
