ECKY + MAYZ in a runfest

Postby mal » Sat Oct 13, 2007 4:54 pm

Ive just left the oval

Adelaide Lutheran needs 210 odd of 33 overs to win outright
ECKY + MAYZ went out to bat with this achievable target
After a frenetic 12 overs Adelaide Lutheran were in fool flight and were 0/6 !

We finished on 3/72 off 36 overs. I finished on 8 not out off 111 balls.

The target was not achievable Mal as we only had 9 players, and the 4 players who didn't bat all made ducks in the first innings and were all unlikely to survive for more than a couple balls, and if I tried to score at anything like the run-rate required, I would have got out quickly too. There is no question that the right approach was taken - go back to giving advice to the SACAs.

Having been dismissed for 24 I thought Adelaide Lutheran had perhaps been giving the advice to SACAs...

The guy who took the association record of 10/5 was in sensational
form with the bat as well
With his team needing quick runs for the eventual declaration he
went in late and made a pulversing 26 ball 0 not out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You did the right thing ECKY with 9 players
What about the declaration 33 overs to get 210+ after the first innings of 24 !!!!
Hmn

BAYMAN is willing to help the lads out if you are short next game.

The 24 was not that bad
MODBURY in 1997-98 amassed 23 that year

MAYZ took 2/14 and bowled exceptionally well, I was impressed

In all seriousness Todd Edwards will never forget that 10/5
He is a left hand swing bowler and bowls an impeccable length
I had the pleasure of meeting Todd on week 2 and we had a discussion on his effort
Fantastic effort

Todd was on Niva91.9 on wednesday morning and got interviewed by Boof Lehmann and Fitzy
Did anyone hear the interview ?

Once again a fantastic effort By Todd Edwards
