Any new faces at your club? Or players to look out for?

Postby hearts on fire » Tue Sep 18, 2007 1:09 pm

Well, another season is upon us!

Just wondering how many clubs have had an influx on new (or recycled) talent show up at preseason training?

Also, who do you feel are the players to look out for in each of your club's teams this season?

Ta Ta,

HoF.

I guess nobody has any new players of note...it's a shame that we'll see the same old faces playing for the same clubs this season....

Brad Cachopa is the new player to look out for at West Torrens.
As for the real person to 'look' out for, the new A Grade Scorer at West Torrens is pretty nice *grins*
Cheers

Do they pay well? Seeing as I'm not playing this year I could handle sitting on my ass, drinking beams and scoring some cricket

Westsider, you get paid $30 per day plus membership of the SACA (if you score A or B Grade). The hours are long (needing to be at the ground from 10am until 7pm) but the camradarie of the players makes it extremely worthwhile. I retired halfway through last year after 26 seasons - will miss it badly this year. I love the guys of the mighty WTDCC!!

All I can say, Heater, is that she did a great job last year. Plus the players greatly preferred her visual aesthetics compared to the previous scorer!
P.S. I am truly far too old to really notice!

Out at Penfield/Elizabeth we have have seen a few changes this season.

The results may take some time to come through as they are things like

Joining with Central's in the Para Districts comp to give us 2 and half teams which is gives our extra players somewhere to go as we have seen an number of juniors come through now.

The Premiship team from last year has only one change with a young keeper (about to turn 18) coming in and looked okay in week one.

Our B grade should be where things improve with a good start week one, bowling the other team out for 104 (I think) and being 3 for 96 at the end of play. 3 bowlers took 3 for's and each of them would be lucky to be 18.

So all in all no big names to metion just young guys learning the game.

It's worth noting that we are the only turf club in the Playford council area, and our juniors who play in the para districts comp do play on the turf deck.

Good luck to all this season

There's an absoulte gun at Ingle Farm.

He played D's there last season, got the bowling trophy 22 wickets.

So far this season 1 match, B grade, 1/54 21 overs :D
