Thanks to Morphy Pk's and the Lee family. It was a great night run well by the Morphy Pk boys and a great few games that our clubs played against each other.

We are looking forward to next year when we will get the chance to host the evening and hope the two clubs continue to support it the way it was this year.

An absolutely fantastic night had by all.
Tremendous turn out by both clubs with over 150 people at the presentations.
WYC need to be given extra credit for firstly, the amount of players & supporters who made their way back to the Morphy Park clubrooms & secondly for the longevity of their stay.
They would have been excused for leaving straight after the Shield was presented, given they were playing the next day & the whole drink driving thing, but Moe sort of remembers at least 10-12 of them still razzing me up at at least 10 maybe 10.30.

I know one thing, we did hide the Jager ;) Looking forward to next game, perhaps in a final.... Now that would be something 8)

[[b]Apparently a bowler who's just had a long spell can't grab a sip of water from the square leg umpire either. Even if he does ask politely.
Right, I've had my gripe. Good on the Ramblers boys for sticking around for a couple of quiet ones after the game on a plus.
Looking forward to the battle of the two undefeated sides this week just quietly.. underarm beamers CK?
I think the Ramblers were more worried about what they'd catch from you Moose..and as for them staying around after the game, JC stayed that long, I thought he was trying for a transfer ;)

Seriously good on them, their supporters & few Ramblers from other grades joining in to help celebrate the start of Coro's 150th Celebrations....good to have a few beers & a good night had by all :D

 no.... just amusing myself...

when the trophy presentation took place did the winning captain turned to the losing captain with a tear in his eyes and said "i cant wait til next year but when were apart i want you to think of this song...... i love you" and then the music hits:

i can picture it, lights dimmed in the morphies club rooms. players from both clubs with arms around eachother... not a dry eye in the clubrooms...

No the captains spoke about the chance of playing again this year in a final.

There were certainly a few tears around when Trevor Lee spoke to the crowd from both clubs and how much appreciation he and the Lee family had for what the two clubs were doing in recognition of his son.

Ease up on WUB a bit, he didn't make reference at any stage to the memorial.

I don't think there was any malice intent, just making light of the love that has been percieved to have blossomed in the past few pages.

Even though it was a memorial match, i'm sure you guys that played in it were still allowed to crack a smile?

It sounds like it was a good well organised day to pay respects to a well loved individual. Well done to all involved, it sounds as if Dave would have been happy with it, I only met him a handful of times myself.

No offence taken by Moe, as I can understand there has been a bit of man love between the 2 clubs recently.
Tubby was avery good mate of Dave's so I can understand his side a bit as well.
Hopefully the Moose Harley Cup can have the same kind of celebrations when we meet in the new year, except Morphy Parks win this one.
Don't take it personally boys, you know we love Plmpton as well

Dave played alot of cricket for RCP or Goodwood as they are now known. He then played/coached(?) Morphy Pk's for a few years.

He had been around WYC for a number of years and had helped out with our juniors, many of whom now play seniors. He is also a life member at WAFC who is our major sponsor and we had the pleasure of sharing many beers with him both during the cricket season and also throughout the football season.

His best mate is also a Sponsor/committee member/past president/resident pain in the ass as well.

Coromandel, we've got a pretty balanced side at the moment. Still havent played our best cricket yet either.
Belair, teams need to start showing them a bit more respect.
SP, starting to play some good cricket!!
Keswick, just because!!
Morphies, cove too inconsistent.
ANA, they couldn't possibly be 1-4 with their side.
