Looks like the bays missed out on the outright by a run or two. Disappointing for them to get so close but no reward.

Fantastic job by our bowlers week before bowled extremely well just not backed up in the field. Dropped 10 catches . Recon morphies wouldn't have got a hundred otherwise, nevertheless we were able to chase 186 fairly easily. Mind you morphies did not have a good fielding day either dropping 5 of there own. Yong fella in our side hit a valuable 78 guiding us home and a debuton the week before took Michelle 5-for home for a spin. Great effort from he lads with some valuable players comin back.

Is marymount a small or big oval? I'm guessing both sides bowled very well or the oval was very slow. Unusual i would have thought to only lose 5 wickets but take 60 overs to chase 180.

good batting i say... sometimes when u come off a loss all u need to do is whats required and that is just get the win... doesnt matter if it takes all day aslong as you get the points! we all saw wat happened rd 1 when you blokes lost trying to chase a medium sized total in 20 overs...i duno it might be the turtle coming out in me but some times you need to dig deep and put a price on your wicket... good win keswick! hope u get smashed this week though :)

Funny that i didn't see you amongst the crowd  ;)

No taking anything away from the win but Morphies batted all but 75 overs for 186 and keswick chased it down in 60 odd overs just wanting to know what the oval is like.

DW bloods, JB is still angry about those fines and now he is trying to take it out on you ;)

Also think we batted 33 in the first game, but now we are back to 18 points = 3 wins so the first game is pretty much a right off now

PS: Luders hit a valuble 60 odd in the second dig, following on from his 10n.o and 55 against ICC off around 25 balls. Still reckon he should be a certainty to play association. Could captain the 21s i reckon, but walk up start to the seniors side!!!

Who cut the oval over night of a GF?? thats a fairly low point aswell IMO.

If that was childish, well so be it cause ICC deserve it.

Well that would've made my mate tarbaby Mckay's night even sweeter.
He is the only person I know who can drink a cocktail of anything Julius Sumner Miller would be proud of, topped with the odd cistern cube and pubic hairs, and still tell me what time the next train leaves Papua New Guinea for Fiji.

Actually, its not a bad size, Morphys problem was being 4/20.

So any danger that this week might get cancelled due to the heat policy? I see the BOM now have Saturday as 39.

Would be almost unheard of to have a 40 degree day in November wouldn't it?

i like the way they "pull the name out of a hat" to draw the games and "toss the coin" for the winner if they dont find a time to play... i wouldnt even call it mickey mouse cricket its too proffessional for that... how bout some structure so we try and get the best 8 teams in the quaters and the 4 best teams in the semi, it will be a disgrace clapham or internationals will go through ahead of some of those teams. midas well play it on the beach, atleast then u can have a perve...

Yeah not too often we would've been called off in November due to heat issues.

Unless they make it 40 for saturday it is going to be bloody hot playing in 39 degree heat.

Are you suggesting a seeding style system to choose who plays who? All the section one teams had the "bye" in the first round of the comp and therefore eliminated 4 of the lower sides.

What structure do you suggest for the competition.

I agree the toss of the coin is farcical, as evidenced by us last year with a club being difficult as to when they were available, if one club plays silly buggers they can make it through to the final without having played a game which is stupid.

JB and the bloke from Warradale. Stop bloody talking at meetings F***

The toss of the coin is stupid.

However drawing the names out of a hat is a good idea. It is similar to that used in the English Football league where teams in lower divs play against each other or get drawn against the big sides.

It also provides the opportunity for different teams to host games as its completely random, unlike a seeds system which will have the number 1 seed play home all the time.

Drawing from a hat is a fair way for all sides. And if it provides a couple lower div sides to get through an extra round or so, well so be it. Its a knockout t20 competition where any side can beat any one. See Belair last year where they beat Westminster IIRC.

ALso with seeds, what do you work on? the previous t20 form? the proper seasons ladder positions??

Besides the toss of the coin, the system is good as it is. If you had people there at the AGM JB like yourself who wanted a different system, that was the time to speak. It was discussed then and voted in as the best system. Deal with it!
