Justin Carmen took a wicket in every single innings that he bowled in which was 20 innings.

ummmm i think D Pargaliti (Parafield Gardens) liked bowling against Smithfield's A Grade his combined figures in the 2 games they played against each other were

11/48 off 25 overs.

I know we had a good year but seriously, Have a look at our C grade - Most of us were suprised we got dumped out of grade 4 for last season but its a mid table grade three side at the absolute most. Obviously it needs to be worked out fairly for everyone but unless we keep everyone and pickup four or five thats just nonsense talk.

If that has really come from someone in the executive as a serious comment - and I doubt it would have, they should consider how saying things like that could effect the decisions we make about next season.

It's up to Brahma Lodge to convince the PDCA not to put their teams in the grades they would have earned for next season anyway IMHO. Produce a list of 22 blokes that are leaving the comp and say they can't play in PDCA next season at all or something. But if I was on the exec, I'd be saying to Brahma that until they come up with a proposition that will work and is fair on the rest of the competition they are likely to be graded in 1,2 and 4 for next season.

In fact, I think he was the recipient of the 3 on that occasion.

How old should Peter Sleep be before he's allowed to play PDCA then?

It's Brahma that want to do all this, nobody forced you guys to move half your club to a different association. It's not up to the association to satisfy your club's whims as if that's the only thing that matters to the whole competition. If you seriously expected to be able to just say to the association your A and B grade sides were going and have the others left where they were and be given carte blanche to pick whomever you wanted in whatever association you decided each week, then your club must be very naive.

Dead right Smasha, the guy is in his 50's and if he wants to play in the PDCA good on him. If some of the players in this grade actually watched him they may learn a few things and improve their own game as all PDCA players could.
I also would love to play against him but I dont think I will ever bowl even in grade 8 but would love to bat against him.

Then they procedded to read out all the 3 vote getters from each game round by round with an updated ladder at the end of each round. Was displayed on a power point presentation showing the ladder and 3 vote getter from the previous round.

Was well done.

Yeah West Ham and good memories arent usually used in the same sentence but that is one occasion i remember fondly.

Sh!t, that exceded what I thought he'd get, must've picked up a couple where the ump chose ball over bat.
I have a good idea for next season then if they are doing it that way. Our club does sensational sit-down meals now and are well priced, I'll be pushing to hold a count at Smithfield next season on the week leading up to the GF.
They could do the whole count as it wouldn't need to be compressed, everyone in attendance would be there to see who the winners will be.
Well done PDCA, getting with the times, I have a list of other things that would step up the comp for next season, roll on AGM.

It was good and definately an improvement but still room for more improvement IMO.
Need some colour to the powerpoint presentation and showed on a proper screen and not a sheet but hey its a start.
Also had a few minor glitches with the microphone.
I know Elaine was disappointed with the lack of numbers overall and they catered for 160 I think and would of struggled to have 120 there. Most clubs were represented but I would of thought the premiership sides would of had greater numbers there, I know last season Modbury turned up in a mini bus.

If it was popular then they need to persist and expand on it. Eventually the more people enjoy the night the more people will start rocking up when they don't have anything to collect. Having been in the past it's been a little dull overall. This year there was no option for me to go though, but making something bigger and better out of it gets a tick from me.

In years gone by the tickets were purchased automatically by clubs in their association fees, then allocated by clubs to their members who were up for awards. I can't see why the association can't do this again and actually invite indivduals by name dependent on their stats and likelihood of winning something... just don't charge for them. That way they can better cater for the event and make it a celebratory evening as opposed to, what seems at times.. a formality.
As for the powerpoint presentation, Craigmore have been doin this for years and is quite well done. If it is done well, it adds to the occasion of the evening.
With that... a slight deflection to the next topic!

I have also heard this from a PDCA committee member but not Elaine.

Was this comment from Elaine? Dont think she was overly impressed with Sibbs final remarks in his speech when he said " it was a good way to leave PDCA". By the look on her face I dont think she was impressed but I maybe wrong, I have been before. ;)

I dont think elaine would take to much to heart with brahma going out, was prob just that time was running out and she didnt want the emotions of brownys to get the better of him, and run up to the microphone, arms wide open, tears coming out, tripping at the last step and knocking himself out on the floor...and yep...mouth to mouth...what a way to go out of the pdca...

Or Central Unite Grade 2?
Or ATCO Grade 3?
Or Salis West Grade 4?
Or your grade 7 side?
