Nothing lazy about it, more wanting to make sure it's right. Also depends when you're doing it and how many teams you're doing. Normally I'm struggling to see the screen when I'm doing these on a Sat night / Sun morning so I have to come back to it during the week anyway. And I'm sure you're lower grade books are no different than ours, can take ages to get those books into a state so they can be entered.

Amen brother!

How are we lazy CK? Some games it is just impossible. You try doing 4-5 books every single week, every game of the year. Never mind if you have social events after the game and then have to back up on the Sunday with Twenty20 commitments. Lazy is the A&SCA who couldn't even be bothered to get the fixtures up for the SAMCA T20. Get a clue.

For the most part entering the scores is a pain in the ass and having to have them done by Sun 12pm is a joke, particularly mid-game. It is a logistical hassle and unreasonable to circulate 4-5 books to 4-5 people every week just to get scores in the paper. Scores should only be in the paper at the end of the game or an alternate means of delivering scores mid-game provided.

It's nothing more than a revenue raiser for a lazy A&SCA committee.

There you go CK all 4 grades done. Morphies over ramblers 6 down

Thanks mate ;)

And gowser, for your infomation iv done 95% of all grades books so far this season! I'm sure if enough people had the passwords or what not for each club it could be done Saturday night! I'm purely looking at it for someone who loves to check scores straight after games that's all! Lazy probably wasn't the right word but atleast the fish got on the line this time instead of me being hooked on from you Gowser ;)

Good results for youth centre today that's for sure!

Some people thought the Aussies werein trouble when they were 3/2. Yesterday the side I played in thought we'd try and bet it and we did 5/2 off 8 overs

IIRC, The A&SCA gave every club $100 to purchase a fax machine or modem to make sure the scores were lodged by 7.30 pm each saturday.

Maybe they need to do it again for the newer clubs that have joined since.

Just quickly i have to congratulate morphy parks on their win yesterday. played a very patient and determined game with the bat with very few rash shots. also one of the most enjoyable games i have played in in regards to the spirit on and off the field. no other club serves up afternoon tea and a free beer after the game. and a huge container of powerade on the second day. ten out of ten

To JC and the coro boys it was a pleasure hosting you boys over the last 2 weeks. As caleb777 said the game was played in great spirit both on and off the field. i watched the first week and chatted with some of you through the day and on the second day to come back from playing cricket to see the whole of your team in our clubrooms having a beer or 2 was great to see. Just shows sportsmanship is not dead.

Cheers :D :D :D

why are the only score that are talked about on this forum from section 1? I know they may play on smaller grounds or the standard may not be as good, but it's still a game of cricket.

What about the performance of Matt Tansell from Belair in section 2 claiming 9 for 23 and 11 wickets overall in the match.

On the side of Sportsmanship
I was informed about some disgusting behaviour by the players from the Adelaide Cavaliers in a section 7 game versus Shiedow Park. I was told that during the first week when they were fielding and there were lbw decisions not given they would come up to the umpire and abuse him to his face, even on one occasion laying a hip and shoulder.

Then in the second week when the game was close at the end, one of Shiedow Park under 15's players that was playing let some runs through the field, and he got abused for a solid 10 minutes, There was even a confrontation after the game between the parents of the junior and a Cavaliers player.

Why only section 1 you ask?
That's because 95% of the people on this forum play in the section 1 comp for one side or another.

To be a big fish in a little pond...

Nah, my shoulder is being held together with sticky tape at the moment, bruce ried style, did it thursday before the first game, i'm trying to limp through the season and then have the operation during footy season. It hurts like hell, but i'm enjoying the best bowling success i've had for about 10 years, bit easier bowling in section 6!

Quite painful. But i've been told that it shouldn't do any more irrepairable damage if i play through it, just to help out the lower grades, and then get it seen to at the end of the season. Hero-like stuff. Only 4 months to go and counting!
