You say that if he lied he would've got off, how is that pre-determining a decision. Don't get me wrong, I think it doesn't deserve a game, hindsight is a wonderful thing but the ruling is "if you swear on the field loud enough for spectators to hear, you will be reported".
You sense the vibe in hearings, I'm sure Russ felt it turn sour as soon as the admission was made that he swore loudly.
He should've denied swearing, he should've been given a suspended sentence rather than miss the most important match of the year.
It's disappointing as Duane was a vital cog in the Rose & Crown quest for a premiership, he scored well both times against the Lodge and the 11 selected players will need to dig deep, not let emotions get the better of them and make up for the loss.
Chin up Duane, I always see it as everyone that represented the team throughout the year is part of the final product, you were a huge part of Rosies success.
Black armbands? Come on, disrespectful IMO.

Lets look at the facts..

Never been reported, never been warned. Threw out one 'F' Bomb in the middle of a sentence that came purely out of frustration and emotion.
Didn't swear directly to the umpire, didn't swear at or to a player.
Semi Final - emotions run high, intense game, IMPORTANT game.

Was honest, admitted to the swear word, was apologetic, didnt hide from the fact, yet still the PDCA give him a game!?!

Mean while in the Grade 4 game not 100m away, we nearly have a couple all in brawls, swear words and abuse fly left right and centre, very heated, and no reports!!! WHERE IS THE CONSISTANCY!?!?!

That's life mate, I've been let off 15km's over the speed limit, I've been booked for 10km over the limit, different umps see things differently. Rosies and AV got handed the short straw. I know when we take the field and see Donny umpiring, I check shoes and tell them loud and clear that this man loves to book people, don't let it be you.
He booked 9 in one go for us against Golden Grove in 98, it stopped our cricket for 2 years.

Thats right lm... If spectaters did hear it would be a diff issue, the thing is they didnt and also a umpire that was 12 mtrs at best didnt hear it... Bomber was giving out lbw from bob...def to high...russel turned to bob and“ how ******* high does it have to be“ and no report ,because common sense kicked in automaticlly....thats my argument...common sense should of kicked in from not only donny but the tribunal as well...
I was told on tue that he would prob get a week “but appeal it anyway and we will listen to what he has to say“...thats where it is wrong.. They didnt listen,or take into consideration duanes record... We all thought going in there and denying it would of looked silly with bob there, who we thought was going to back donnys story, but he didnt im the end cause it wasnt loud enough for him to hear it... So people never tell the truth at a tribunal.... How many games did the nth pines captain get?

There's nothing I can say that would be of any value now, I hope for your sake that you can put it behind you and when you raise your bat for your first half-century you think of your comrade.

Cricket is a gentleman’s game but it doesn’t pay to be one when you go to the tribunal.
When asked to go through what happened I told them the truth as that’s the way I am. Bob then come into the room and said that he couldn’t hear anything at all from Square leg ( I thought Don would have pi**ed in his ear but didn’t). Then Russ came back up stairs and told them what happened. Russell didn’t hear me swear the 1st time only when I said that’s a F***ing Joke.
Then Brian handed down the revised suspension being 1 game for swearing at an official and disputing a decision. They rolled them into one. My good behaviour record come into it I don’t know where but it did.
I asked the tribunal if I said to Don “ Are you serious” would I have got away with it. There answer was yes but because I dropped the F Bomb and I was truthful in what I said that’s why I got a game. I looked all of them in the eye and said because I didn’t lie I am getting a game and their response was yes because you are guilty of an offence. I also asked everyone in the room in a heat of the moment or on a day to day basis to you swear and all of their responses was yes. We all swear.
The tribunal said a few times that we all know what Don is like but what can we do about it. We pull our hair out each week because of this. Well its Simple don’t let him umpire cricket the PDCA need to take control of this situation ASAP. If it was another umpire nothing would have been done about it. A warning at best on the day if that. If I was carrying on about it for a long time well then yes. But 2 lines within 10 seconds. Don would have been at home last night rubbing his hands together saying yes another one bites the dust.

I would like to know from everyone what other reports or warnings have you heard about this year.
One that I know of is Rosie’s V Parafield. Lynch was turned down for an LBW and was on his knee’s pleading with Don. I can’t remember what he said but it was a disgrace and everyone was watching it and hearing what was said. Last night after the sentence was given Russ asked about this and Brian response was “he got a game for that as well” Lynch didn’t get a game for that he got a game because of the 3 warning rule and still played the next day against Churches representing our association.

I know I did wrong but for one word is going to make me miss a Grand Final that is a disgrace for all involved. 15 years in the PDCA without a warning or anything and this is the way I get treated that’s a joke.

Sorry to hear about the outcome mate, everyone i have spoken to thinks the decision is a disgrace, i know that doesnt help but there are alot of people on your side.

No surprise to see the tribunal lying about what other players got to cover there own arse. They did that in our case with one member of the tribunal telling everyone who would listen that he gave a playford player 16 games. Yeah there were suspended games.
