I understand what you are saying about clubrooms, air con, etc. however from a legal argument that it is safe for the higher grade rather than lower grade it would not be agreed facts therefore not stand in court of law. Also the directors of the assoc. have a duty of care and responsibility as all directors of companies do thus leaving the assoc and themselves open to litigations.

Guess your argument goes out the window, hey demonseye? ;)

The following came from the SACA website.
. In considering how to handle men’s senior grade cricket scheduled on Saturday 31 January 2009 , SACA decided to look at C and D Grade separately from A and B Grade. The reasoning behind this decision is due to the average age of all participants in this competition (both players and umpires). Further to this, off-field support for lower grade teams in the form of facilities (air conditioned club rooms, fridge access etc) and the number of volunteers is in most cases markedly reduced. Based on these considerations and a combination of the extremely hot conditions we have experienced this week, tomorrow’s forecast temperature and expected relative humidity, the SACA has made the decision to cancel play in C and D Grade matches tomorrow.
To me this makes sense and i know that Adelaide Turf is seperate from the SACA.

Think the heat must have got to one of the Kilburn players on Sat as after he was dismissed he came charging over to the HV camp, threatened to punch us all out and took a swing at one of us  before being restrained by a teammate. Hmmm interesting to see if there will be any fallout.

A3 Grade looking very close at the top. Flinders Park obviously the front runner now but a solid win by ROCS against top side Goodwood holding them in good stead. What has happened to Concordia? They still a finals chance?

Age should not be a factor. There are still some old blokes playing A and B grade cricket and plenty of young blokes as well. One of our young lads was taken to hospital after fielding most of the day in the A grade. Adelaide Turf would be in some serious poop if, "heaven forbid" anything worse had happened to the young lad!

To me it is quite simple and I'll kep saying it until I'm blue in the face - IF IT'S TOO HOT FOR SOME, IT'S TOO HOT FOR ALL End rant.

Yes Saturday was hot but if you are smart you make sure you hydrate Friday Night and Saturday Morning and then with extra Drinks breaks you should get through the day fine.

Being a Young Fellow that got taken to hospital maybe someone at the club needs to talk to the kid and point these things out because kids don't always think about pre match preparation such as drinking plenty.

It is a simple matter that A1, A2, A3 games are all played on Ovals with facilities such as Changerooms so players can have a shower to cool down and hydrate the body, they also have Clubrooms that are generally air conditioned or have fans in them to cool off during the day and at tea time and lastly they have shade which isn't always guranteed at the lower grade ovals.
Lastly with other grades called off it leaves Club mates to help out in running water and acting as Sub fielders if people need to go off.

Just my 2 bits worth.
