Surprising comment when no games have been played yet.
Sounds like he is trying to dodge commitment.
If it was me I would be training harder and preparing the best for gameday.
It is good to see it get competitive for spots and if the weak links are not committed to doing what is required they should stick to backyard cricket.

maybe someone who wants to be the big fish in a small pond...

Interesting....care to expand?

some people like to be known as 'the best' player at the club. They dont like it when 'better' players come in and challenge them for that title so they pack up camp and head to a club that doesnt have any 'big name' players so they can be be 'the best' without putting in any extra effort...

So are you saying that Sibbs is leaving to be a big fish? Because he is "known" as best player in the Lodge, and by a long way. Haven't heard that rumour yet. And if it is someone else, then they would be kidding themselves if they thought they were the best player at the Lodge. 40 cricket of the year trophies in a row would explain who is the best.

I think the 40 COTY trophies is a over estimate. I think you interpreted his message wrong by assuming Sibbs.
I don't know the name of the player so I generalised.
Some players do like it easy and are not prepared to do the hard work. Results count more than talk.
Tell us the situation then Masha.

No interpretation issues here, I knew he wasn't talking about Sibbs. And you really think 40 COTY trophies is an over estimate? Thought you were smarter than that, never seen sarcasm before?

What situation would you like to know about? If you are referring to me, I still am undecided and have already spoken to the people that count, they know the situation.

I wasn't referring to you, I thought an earlier post mentioned a young player. My comments were generalised.
Masha I appreciated that people have conflicting commitments so if that is the case with you I understand.
PS Leave the personal sledging to the cricket pitch.

Not sure I will have any chance to sledge you on the cricket pitch, won't you be holding up the bar?

My bad, I mi-understood the direction of the posts. As far as I know, Trent Payne or Luke Nelson arent going anywhere, for starters not sure if Trent is even playing cricket (holidays and finger troubles), but Luke may find himself on the outer with all the inclusions, although I was sure he was happy playing B grade last year so dont think much would have changed???

So with the first game just 9 days away how are the div 1 and 2 sides looking? Many numbers out training? New faces? Who are the three/four sides fighting relegation and who are the two sides we expect to be promoted?

Good luck all.
