Your the captain, surely you would have some idea?! :? Or is this a "super-sub" move - inject yourself at the right moment for maximal impact!?

How bad a sledger is Fanta?
Will he be playing tomorrow? Might be at a wedding.

Also no Steve Fulton!

Good to see selections made not only on natural ability but also rewarding those that train hard and put in the effort to improve. Big step for some young blokes this season but the club has plenty of confidence in their ability and work ethic.

Its also good to see that 3 of the young fellas in the side are 'second generation' CCC cricketers... Gebauer, Jackson and Galway...

Is a massive step for the young lads, Jackson and Foran both averaged under 20 last year in grade 3 and TBH the bowling attacks in grade 3 last year werent the greatest.

Though in saying that both are top lads from what i have met of them and i wish them the best of luck except for when they play us. Good for both clubs to playing against each other should help the bar takings at both clubs.

Also interesting in CCC 1 day side both Snapper and Dylan McIver is that due to availability. I do know Dylan is coming off a knee reco but his a very talented cricketer.

Foran is dangerous if he gets going, hits a good ball... has a 130 in grade 2 i believe (a few seasons ago) and Jackson is a very patient bat. Works the ball around well. Has put on a bit of size since last season - mostly height - which will help both his batting (will be able to hit it harder) and his bowling (so he can hit the pitch harder)

Snapper has continued troubles with his shoulder and is only playing because we have a few missing the first couple of weeks and Dylan has only trained once i think and isnt moving at 100% yet but will offer plenty with the bat

Apparently Central United have picked up a few players from Penfield to go with Myles Picton.

Names i have heard are playing this week for the Units are Adam Ellis, Frank Rissoka (sp) and Cody Ross!

Foran hasnt been out in any of the trial games (weve retired him) all be it not at the standard he will face this week. We also have 7 under 16s through the grades this week. Would have been more but 1 was injured this week and 1 unavailable. The future looks good with so many Juniors and there lies the future of the club. Reward for effort....

PDCA must be short on umpires with Coxy & Frank Brown umpiring in grade 2.

Also no Alf, has he retired?

Good news is no Donny though. :D

A. Galway is a work horse at training. Also has done extra work by himself when work stops him from training. Set the lad some goals and stand back and watch him. Absolute pleasure to coach.

B. Jackson another youngster on the rise.

M. Harris is still learning and will only improve with time and the extra coaching.

D. Foran the ability is there no doubt. Goal is to get it out of him on a regular basis.

The goal for the year is to get as much experience and quality coaching into all these players as possible. Develop for the future and the rest will take care of itself.

Add in Gebauer, Wilson, Baker & Sebastyan and we have a very young inexperienced team whome will only benefit from the experience of Howe, Hewitt & Elliot.
