I did hear on the grapevine that there may have been a few reports from the game?

Havenot heard that but do tell!

All heresay third hand mate, and may be way off the mark..... but I heard SW captain was in the book. Was hoping someone might be able to shed some more light on it?

May of been reported as he was not happy with the ge starting today, but don't know for sure.

False. Nobody reported.

Catch taken over the line? Was close, but the guy stood his ground on the spot long enough for the umpires or player to object. Umpire was satisfied it was legal and the batsman walked off. the only guys who had a view of the line itself (CM players weren't on the line) all said it was a foot inside. And these were guys who wouldn't lie to the opposition, let alone a club mate in private later.

Any other stupid stories you heard that I should hose down?

Don't use big words like retort when you can't spell yourself. Use proper English thought not though. Get your glasses checked.

More concerned about you mate...instead of being pre-occupied about defending the team you should be playing in maybe you should worry about your own form. ;)

Salter and Weaving played really well against your spinners (The amount of square fours and sixes tells me they bowled too short) in the middle overs and built a platform to get to that total. Credit where due, thats all.

Poor form...blah blah blah. Just stating facts. Our spinners bowled a total of 5 overs out of 70 for 30 odd runs so shows how observant you are. Anyway whatever, you guys are in the GF whether it be via poor fielding/bowling, incompetent umpiring or inclement weather. I will make sure I get my Central United coloured attire out the wardrobe this Saturday/Sunday, nothing personal.

No reports from that game. Blondie acted like a prawn over the condition of the ground and was trying to stall as long as possible, as you would if your team was in that position. JC was arguing with 15 yr olds about how many runs he has made in the season and showing his true colours and was warned by Brian to cut it out or he would be on report.. meanwhile the CCC young lads were preparing the pitch to try to get some more time out in the middle. The limited time came and a few wickets fell ending up at 7/78 when they rain came again.
I hit the attempted six that Blondie claimed on the boundary, umpires said he was in the field of play so I walked. Noone likes to lose semi's like that, but it hey.... it happens. SW beat Brahma a few weeks ago to steal 2nd place from us... that win got them in a granny at the end of the day. Brahma is the team to beat in Grade 5, but SW will have to play alot better to be competitive. Good luck to both of em.
With that... a slight deflection to the next topic!

Phantom Gossiper wrote:Rose & Crown B grade definately dodged a bullet today IMO, we were against the ropes early, losing another wicket 1st over of the day, but fortunately our remaining batsman kept cool heads and seen out the day before the rain interupted again and ended it.

Kudos to North Pines though, never before have i seen such commitment and endevour to get a game under way, they must have had 20 people out working on the pitch for nearly 2 hours, put hay on it, did EVERYTHING to dry it up so we could get started.

They were filthy we played for the rain and went off when it began coming down, calling us bad sports etc, but in all honesty i dont care. You play 14 games in the minor rounds to give yourself the best opportunity to win a grand final, the rules are there, i dont care in the slightest, we did the hard yards during the season.

Anyway thats it for me, think i better impose a media ban on myself this week, toughest challenge ever coming up!

Yep they worked there arses off to get out there to play, as you would if you were the lower ranked side...BUT with all the sh!t they were talking, making it look like its our fault it was raining i say...sucked in...
On the other hand i take my hat off to the angle vale guys, not once did they complain or sook about the weather, they understood that it was a sh!t day for cricket and took it on the chin..well done AV... Shows the difference in mentality from some people, yes its a sh!t way to bomb out, but what goes around comes around and they will benifet from the weather in the future..

Salisbury West won unfortunately, won in the wrong spirit but you get that.

Your not blaming westies for the weather i hope?
And for the record we were not aloud to set the mats up untill the pitch was dry...also it all comes down to the umpires when its raining, they decide when play starts not the players regardless on what the players are saying or doing..

Mate shut up and move on, our second best 11 was good enough to accumulate 230 odd against your shamble, and then have you guys 6 down before the rain set in. It was a joke ever going out there, but after begging to get out there I honestly though some pride would have been shown, instead you guys continued to throw wickets away. Ahh well, enjoy Grade 2 again next year, Brahma Yellow look forward to playing Brahma Black in a good Grade 1 Showdown next year.

Talk about poor fielding, Lets also run with the poor sportsmanship shown by the young Blonde lad. But nothing is sweeter than a first baller.
