Just had a look . Sorry Lm not a great offer. WE had two blokes make more than that on player incentives alone last year . Would love to coach a club. I will when my cricket is over . I would expect a coach to want between 2 and 3 grand

As I stated on the other thread, there are incentives on top of that. That is the problem clubs face that are run by Sports & Social Clubs, generally footy is the main revenue maker therefore cricket has to take a back seat. We have people around that are willing to throw a bit of cash around, my post on the other thread says it all.

Ha, I wouldn't poach the chairman of another club, only players that aren't entirely happy where they are or are looking for a change.

It works well, you have to be an asshole though and don't pay out if someone isn't fully paid up, you don't want it running at a loss, it works well for the one-dayers so players don't scab easy points in the 2nd digs.

I play to kick back and enjoy myself nowadays, although I've had two premierships in a row, last seasons one, my 14 year old lad also played. I'm pretty crap now aswell, that makes it easier to determine where I fit in.

Dont sell urself short lightning , u still hit a very long ball (Haven't u won ur B's batting two years in a row ?) and ur spinners definitely get a job done and u said it urself .."can't buy experience" ! Me thinks theres still plenty in front of u !

Thanks for the vote of confidence there CT, you must be a good bloke, it's the last 3 actually, the last 2 have only been because the batsmen in the team didn't play as many games. I might coach and bat at 9 or something, sitting on the side scoring might be an option, we need just as much assistance off the field to be more successful on the field.

I havent been setting the world on fire, I've had a few decent knocks over the past few years, I had to open for the A's when we started senior cricket back up after 2 years in exile in 2001, the experience helped me.

And here's something you probably weren't aware of which was the icing on the cake.....an outsider rang the club enquiring about coaching, a position the club desparately needed, and nobody could give this person details of who to speak to, nor could they take down any details and have somebody get back to them.....now that is exceptionally poor, and just another contributing factor to those departures. I cant believe how crucified Adam was for leaving.....after everything he's done for that club and how loyal he remained.

I'm done discussing this issue. It's obvious you don't really understand what I'm saying. You keep bringing up issues that we have as if I'm trying to portray the club as perfect. I'm continually saying that there are problems, so I don't know what you want to achieve. In fact, I could very well tell you a lot of things we don't do well.

Do you guys have a coach for the forthcoming season, does he play or a non-player, do they get paid.

Not sure, but expect we don't given the pattern of the last few years. Can be playing or non playing I believe, and while there is reinbursement of about $500 for the year if I recall properly I can't be cerain of any of that. Just my hazy recollections of other people's conversations. If you like I can provide contact info for someone who will know if you or someone else are interested.

You'll get someone with good crudentials, it would be a pretty strong side to work with. The travel factor would be the only pain in the arse.

If you have the $$, you may aswell put an ad in the Sunday Mail, The Bunyip will only attract Gawler and surrounding area residents, I could be wrong, but cricket seems to have deteriorated in Gawler over the years. I think the footballers play it to keep in touch with their mates over summer.
