Don't be so certain. Enfield started slow, missing players and form but slowly on the improve.. since Round 1 when Salis West were 4/195 our A grade have taken:

6/13 (close out innings) & 10/82 (nearly got the reverse outright)
10/189 & 3/56 (vs Eyre Royals who are streets ahead)
10/71 & 10/85 (vs Central United)

Arguably the best bowler in the club, Todd Rackebrandt, is expected to return in the next couple weeks (been working).. no side will have a bowling line-up as deep as Enfield's once full strength.

Told ya so..

Yeah, you're smart, I'm dumb, you're handsome, I'm ugly, you're strong, I'm weak.

When was that prediction made? December after a big Thursday night?

You guys still fit in to the "A Grade" team in Grade 2 category.

Got to see a small bit of the Units win on Sunday and what a bit of action it was!

Woody took out JJ Parker's leg stump 1st ball of day

Foran out for -5 after having a hissy fit at umpire and sulked his way off the oval.

Call from CCC crew of 'No Woody, No Units' nek minute Davy Ritzema 5/33 in a blistering spell!

Units and EP havent faced each other since Rd 1! what a match it will be. Carn the Units!

No disrespect to Davey as he is a wonderful line and length bowler but his job is made easier with Woody up the other end bowling a 17 over spell of thunderbolts for sweet FA, Dave just has to put them in the spot like he does and let the batsman make the errors.

Regardless of this weekend's result it's great to see the Units back in Grade 1 where they belong, they weren't the 2nd weakest team up there last season and will be better for having a successful Grade 2 season.

This week should be a cracker.

Are you counting chickens before they've hatched?

Eyre Royals auto promotion for minor premier, so only the premier will be the promoted.. Enfield at home is a tough proposition. Best bowling attack in the div, I've been telling you this all year lol.
yeah but pines have one of the best batsman on PDCA. Freeman gets going and the other end just helps him a bit and they score huge totals

He's got to get going first.. was dropped several times last time they met on his way to 86 - North Pines made 252 and were probably fortunate to win in the end.

He struggled to play Channa who ended up with 5/52 off 24 overs, and with Rackebrandt it'll be hard work from both ends this time.

Freeman failed, Channa got him on his way to 6fa - that’s what we were discussing weren’t we?

North Pines bowled well, few of the Enfield blokes need to hang their heads in shame and asked themselves some questions.

Still 70 overs today and Freeman had his 21st last night(?) could be an interesting days cricket stil! If the Redbacks get to a 120 lead they’ll win, anything less and Enfield still a chance despite the first innings crap.

pines will just bat all day today. No need to play big shots. Only play at balls we have to

Congrats to North Pines in their A/B grade - to come from 3rd and 4th respectively and win premierships is a massive achievement.

From the outside, it really looks like they've turned things around internally, and are reaping the rewards.

For their A grade, largely flew under the radar most the year, and looked in danger of missing finals at one point, but came out and knocked off the highly fancied Eyre Royals in the Semi Final, defending 112, then on the weekend were bowled out for 74 - only to turn around and roll Enfield for 37!

Herraman was brilliant - valuable 8 not out in the 1st innings, then 11 overs, 5/22 and had the ball singing.

Sunday really showed the North Pines resolve though, being 1/12 over night and leading by 50, they shut up shop, and showed incredible application to see off the bowling, finishing 5/83 after 58 overs when rain ended the day early. Honestly, they didn't even look like getting out, and not one of their players looked interested in playing a shot. Pretty impressive stuff.

Congrats, enjoy the wins... Enfield, you're shit.

Not sure if its been covered? A new club called the Peninsula Pirates based down the port look to be joining. Would it be from some disgruntled Nth Haven lads sick of traveling South in the Adelaide and suburban comp?

Partly correct I believe.

Pirates are a bunch of disgruntled (with the club) North Haven guys who have decided to form their own separate club. Are in the process of applying for PDCA which is looking promising.

Apparently, however, North Haven themselves are over A&SCA and are also exploring the option of moving to PDCA.. don't know how much truth to it all, just word on the street.

That's if they get accepted?

Yeah, but it's hard to see clubs voting against their entry - North Haven isn't that far away, and the Pirates have possibly 2 sides (2 day and 1 day), North Haven have 4 sides.

It'll be interesting to see what other clubs from C&CCA apply i.e. Para Vista as well.
