What are those that know about it what are your thoughts on the fines the association is dishing out for the MyCricket scores where half way through Round 3 and were $260 down and we really are behind already with no bar and two sets of new nets at different venues cutting our funds.

Scores in before 7 on a saturday night we werent back to the club before then from North Haven and were does the money go to?

Definitely is only the team that is needed. It doesnt even have to be 100% correct the side. Easy way, thursday night after selection gett someone to put the sides in. Its not that hard really.
Altho, it does make it difficult for a club with two sets of new nets, and fines being given out for minor things like that. But when sides down have the sides in, it makes it annoying when the other side is trying to put their scores in for the week

Obviously your association delegates dont talk to the clubs secretary :? .

It was a motion at the AGM so clubs should know about it. Well they will now thats for sure.

Nah i know it wasn't an excuse from you and yeah it is.

Just disappointing to see clubs giving up such important funds for something so simple.

Fines are ok with me, sick of teams taking too long to get scores in.

We don't have a bar either, but we run our own out of eskies after the game at our home oval. Fortunately finances are not an issue for us. You should have been able to get a grant for the nets?

In other news Ramblers will play in first turf pitch game against Westminster in round 6. Will be very interesting and hopefully a good surface.

It will be interesting to see how both sides go on the turf deck. Interested to hear what you think of it once you have played them AF. Steve Mcrae called past our training tonight and said they have given you guys as much notice as possible the game will be on turf.

Nope, we will play on the ground alongside their current oval. I guess school won't be using it as it is school holidays.

Steve emailed me today. I guess all we can really do is call past the oval and take a look for ourselves, maybe have a trundle on a week night leading up to it - tho the school would probably fence the pitch off wouldn't they?

Yeah the main oval wouldn't be available mid week i wouldn't think. Sure you could ring WOS and organise a training in the turf nets if you guys are keen.

Was talked about at the AGM meeting. Definitely wont be able to do a training run on the pitch, however on the training nets they said it MAY be possible...

Iv played on their main oval a couple of times. The oval itself is great, the pitch was good for batters after the new ball, a touch green! A good pitch, enough in for the bowlers with the new ball, and then its a batsmans pitch thats for sure.

It will be interesting to see if the groundsman (since its a school) will put as much work as normal into the pitch since its only a "hardwicket" comp. Hopefully the pitch is a cracker for your side AF.

Looking forward to seeing how it plays and hearing your views on it

In the nets, maybe, on the pitch F*** no.
However, if there are more then 3 teams with turf, i wouldnt want others training there. They should get enough exposure i guess. Anywho, would u bazza?

I think its unreasonable and some what hypocritical.

I also think the mycricket system is flawed. I can see why it is attractive for associations, but for clubs its inadequate rendering it just an increase in work and potential running costs.

It is insufficient for many clubs stats keeping and therefore requires the same data being entered/recorded on 2 different mediums. There is no guarantee of this information being kept for any length of time (the data from the SACA based system once used has not been imported)

I don't mind having the teams up by the end of the 1st Saturday but the deadline for entering full match results is unreasonable. The full scores are not published and therefore clubs should not be required to provide them.

In my opinion, faxing/phoning abbreviated scores should be an option for publishing in the paper, or stop having them published.

It would also be nice to see the association website better utilised with regular news and event updates.
