At the end of the day its a system of individual clubs nominating to compete in the desired association and grade so its probably going to continue this way until Hills cricket is non existant.
As you have stated - It won't happen, as no club is going to "vote" itself out of existence, even if only in part.
Woodside have now entered another team in A&EH - so they have 6 senior sides - clearly they DON'T need to merge with anyone!
Hahndorf & Mt Barker merger.... not likely, be a cold day in hell!
Meadows/Echunga - also not likely. The Mylor experiment was worthwhile, & I understand that Mylor did not want to not exist anymore, and that is fair enough.
In terms of A&EH - Both Nairne & Woodside are "powerhouse" clubs, and good luck to them. Their committee's have obviously worked hard to take these clubs to where they are now. While some smaller clubs continue to shoot themselves in the foot! For example the club that nominated 3 teams, forfeited their lowest team on Saturday, struggled to fill their 2nd team (with juniors and blokes playing their 1st ever game) so what happens now..... do they go back to the association and say sorry guys we don't have the players for a 3rd team, so we go through another competition re-draw. Clearly they should have "sured" up their playing stocks (last season) and not assumed they would be returning. Incompetence, arrogance and mis-management!!
