Good to see the Stirling oval has had a new pitch laid. About time the Northern end swimming pool was fixed!

Plenty of talk about a new Stirling recruit being a tool. He'll fit in well.....I played for the Ling and I'm a massive dickhead!

Go the Ling or Tools or Dickheads or Whatever you want to call us!!!!!!!!!

In A&EH news................
Didn't see Chris Tarasenko's name in the line ups for Sturt tomorrow, so can that be taken as that he may have gone back out to Nairne for a trundle? Would be a very handy addition to the reigning champs if he is. Know that quality bat and recent father (for the fourth time :o ) Chris May is padding up for them again as well but past captain Shayne Dunstall has left the club to play for new entry into A grade cricket, Echunga.
Crikey, if I'd known Echunga was going to field a side, I might have gone out there for a run myself, not that I'd be a walk-up start mind you .

Dutchy that wouldnt be hard mate.

DA, stirling are tools we both know that but dont you want to come out of retirement so that you could have pot shots at the new housing development, brake some windows of the most ugly 600 grand homes in the hills. i rekon the windows are in exactly the same spot that you and i used to smash some 6's.[/quote]

Stan Evans was telling me that at the council approval meeting for the development he raised the issue that those houses will get peppered with cricket balls all summer....they dismissed him and didnt listen, I think he will have the last laugh. They are only 60 metres on the pull shot from the pitch!!!!

Looking forward to playing on Scott Creek oval this year, havent played there for 10 years...

JQ, Perhaps if you don't bowl when you play at Scott Creek then your side won't spend so much time lookings for its balls !!!

TDU - I've seen some pretty good bolwers go searching for balls. You a SCIB's boy defending that p#ss weak location for an oval?

Yeah funny enough I am and thoroughly enjoy the surroundings at Scott Creek as do most of our opponents. What are you saying "pretty good bowlers should never be put over the fence", happens at most ovals I would say.

If its such a big deal for you JQ don't show up, we ain't going to lose any sleep over your non appearance.

'Over the fence' isn't the real issue, TDU. It's finishing a game near 7pm cos of all the searching that goes on.
Most of your opponents enjoy it do they? That's a clutch.
On the contrary, you'd give me more inspiration to rock up. Now that you guys are so gutsy to put in a D grade.

4 senior sides from a club with a limited community base is a fair effort I thought JQ, how many other clubs are in the same position? I don't know who fields a D grade so I would be interested to hear.

Let's be honest, they're all pretty limited communities.
Other clubs - Uraidla, Eastern Ranges, Aldgate, Happy Valley, Basket Range, Aldgate Pub, Mt Lofty, Bridgey, Onkas.
From that, I think maybe Uraidla, HV, Basket Range (only as of this year), Aldgate, Bridgey and Lofty have teams in ALL other grades.

JQ, when will we see you at training big fella?

Any word on when day light savings actually starts, heard it was going to get brought forward?? Not too happy with the hills assoc. making all of the B grade games two-dayers again, much more enjoyed when there was atleast half one-dayers. 70 overs in the sun isnt the most fun. maybe change them to 60 or 50 over innings.

daylight saving starts 29/10 - so that is 3 weeks of cricket without it which means the over rates have to be good in the one dayers.

I see Ryan Hunter is having a crack at Glenelg...good luck to him and well done for testing his talent out on the big stage...from what Ive seen he could play A grade, maybe just needs to be a bit more patient....cabbage will miss him though.

SO who here is playing C grade this season?

I'm hoping the pocket near the nets gets a bit grassier, interesting at training!
And Bazz you're right, I heard their home will be Heathfield primary. Make sure you pick a demon of a keeper, yorker bowlers and a f'n quick guy at fine leg!!

I took a catch at Aldgate one day fielding in a shortish square leg, when I took the ball it must have been at least a metre below the wicket hight

As for Heathfield primary, not too many grounds that you can easily edge a ball over gully for 6.

GTS - love to Sherrin, just not too viable at the minute.
As for all 2-dayers for B grade, WTF?! I thought half half was a great idea. Also gave some c and D graders the chance to come u for a week to test them out, or guys that worked to play a full game on the week that they were available. That sucks.
Ian - It has been levelled a bit, but they were starting behind the 8 ball with that ones.
