just curious what some clubs do to attract players to the club?
for example, having a drink with a mate the other week when i was last in adelaide. i told him there's a strong possibility i will be back in adelaide by late november, anyways long story short and after a fair bit of drunk talk, woke the next morning with a warradale c.c card in my wallet. my $$ was still in the wallot which was good. obviously i forgot that i took the card of him in my drunk state... however i just thought those cards were a good idea to get the word around. mate works in a bar and he's been giving them to heaps of people. weather it works, i dont know. just thought it was a good way to get a clubs name out there.

could be done by $$$, word of mouth or just plain advertising. just curious on how clubs do it...

I thought the same after our 2-day match against Cove. Then I faced Kinnear in the 20/20 GF. Almost reckon the first ball hit me before I knew he'd bowled it. Quickest I've faced in our comp I'd have to say.

Safe to say that this is because he struggles to bowl lengthy spells.
his bouncer is generally more quicker as well, helped by the fact that there are no biomechanical experts in the crowd.

Had a few injuries throughout the season, can bowl much quicker

No doubt he has a talent to bowl sharp like his old man Turbo.
He did tire in seasons gone by in the SCA if needed to bowl quite a few overs, which could be a work thing too.
I'd be more annoyed that there is a player at Cove who can bowl sharper than Brett and has all the cricket talent in the world but is too lazy to put in the yards.

Who is sharper? I think I know who you are alluding to but hasn't been quick this millenium

With all the boys injured at the moment, thought we would start just having casual hits at the indoor centre.

Don't give details about where he played as pole will
Jump up n down. But being recruited to us by his mate is great news for the club. Now all we need is a coach lol

Looks like Western Youth will be the side to beat this year Good bunch of young cricketers developing nicely. Its good that your youngsters have developed and you no longer have to rely on pressy and old Kingy
