So what about Willunga... I know i had written them off along with a lot of other people i know associated with the A grade and they come out and smash Mt Compass. They proved that they are still a very strong and dangerous team and should never be taken lightly.
Also this weeks game will be very tight, if Myponga bowl as well as they did last week i wont be surprised if they beat Mt Compass with as much ease as they beat McLaren last week. Myponga have as good a bowling line up as you'll see and are extremely dangerous with the bat. Mt Compass are one of the older sides and although they are very experienced they lack that youthful pace in the field. Guys like jigga, binnsy, chopper and braidwood have great hands but when it comes to chasing they just leak runs. There bowling also doesn't have much variation, since the mid-season transfer of McMillian to the demons, and rely to much on the none spinning meat pies num serves up!
I predict the GF to be between Willunga & Myponga and that should be a vary entertaining GF and a great spectacle for all to watch.
Very interesting point about the umpires! They often seem to errr on the side of caution when making the tough decision! Some umpires are worth the coin, others should be made accountable for their actions when doing the job!!
And how bout Willunga, only about a month ago they were dad's army according to everybody on the thread! And now they are the flavour of the month again!! Milford was back in the action! Showing why he was once a district opening batsmen!!! Prizibilla scoring runs first up after injury! And Mcmillan against the old side coming in towards the tail playing some lovely shots!!! Some of the big guns for Willunga didnt fire like Elliot,Harding,Peek,Williamson etc! So they may be the force come the GF!! The bowlers did a super job aswell! Minot was tight and so was Williamson! Unlike the girl he was with Friday Nite!! haha! The slow bowlers took wickets!! and Fry looked dangerous!!
Would be good to see some Mclaren lads continue their feedback on this thread although there season is over!! I know with harvesting and so on it must be tough to find time to access the net but ur feedback is enjoyable to read and u always add valid points!!
Also heard on the gravy train that Andy Evans is looking to play at another club next season in the GSCA??? Rockyb any info son??
Yeah there are some of us McLaren blokes still on here Danozzo. I believe Pongy are a real chance this week, they are dangerous. Much of Compass' hopes relies on Mark Nash with the ball. Compass have a few good bats but not enough penetration with the ball aside from Nash.
Well done to Willunga, i never counted them out when they lost those matches. They have some good experienced heads and if they can come together as a team then they will be hard to beat. I cannot believe Fry is still in the A grade though.
As for Goolwa/Willunga's so called recruits well we will just have to wait and see. I am mates with MCIVOR and spoke to him about the possibility of coming to McLaren and his response was he is not going anywhere. I have heard the Allard rumour from a good source too but still i will believe it when i see it.
Another rumour to throw into the mix are McLaren's possible recruits next season. The possibility of getting Simon Hatji back from Southern is high. I spoke to him at the start of this season and he said he was gonna give Southern one more crack but he said when he is ready to leave there he is definately coming back to McLaren.
The other is young Matt Heaney, medium/fast bowler and a solid lower order batsmen is pretty close to signing on next season. He is playing footy down here this season and is best mates with young Daniel Petrucci and pretty close to securing the deal. He is currently playing A grade for Sheidow Park
