Haven't been down to the club since presentation. Whipser was Adam had asked Johnny Mac to go to AHOS. But at the time Johnny said he only wanted to play for us, but you never know whether someone might think it's worth a go. Haven't really a clue though. I only hope they give us more than 1 week's notice. Anyone who leaves to play a higher comp or higher grade leaves with my blessing and the hope they always feel welcome to return. I'd just rather they didn't come out to preseason at all, or if they did come out would tell us straight away they're not playing. My only problem with Oz and Parky leaving was it happened so late and threw our preparations out so badly.

That's the problem Graham....what preparations ? Answer that, and you'll find the reason they left.

When do most clubs begin training, was that a sore point last season. We try and have a few Sunday trainings starting in August, but the numbers are poor, we even planned trials for A's & B's but had to pull out due to lack of interest. Then players can't work out why they struggle for form early in the season, unless you can start training around 4:30, not many people get a decent bat during the week.

Bingo ! Thats all they wanted....and not even to that extent. A bit of professionalism. The committee took that group of cricketers for granted and from the outside looking in, if you're not paying these players, you at least have to tick all the other boxes. If they did that, Oz and Parky would've stayed, they would've kept Rocco and Nobesy would've played as his knee had healed.

Thats been Westies downfall for a long time. The AGM is always held way too late and there is zero organisation and planning. Just relying on the same group to just roll up a week before round 1 and play.

Cheers Rolls, I get so annoyed and threaten to take my services elsewhere due to the lack of preparation the players put in pre-season, amongst footy finals, kids footy finals and a severe shortage of hours in a week, I still have to get to the club and organise trainings of a sunday. When only a handfull of players rock up, it's a fair kick in the guts.

At least I know that we are not the only slacko's, I'm at my wits ends for the month leading up to the season and my phone bill cops a hammering.

I think rego at Salisbury West is $30....$20 to be a cricket member and $10 to be a club member.
Ball fees are $5p/w.

Its been a while though...

That's why we love Johnny Natsias from Virginia, he loves giving it to ya, him and Damian Newman take sledging to a new level when they play against each other, then have a beer together after the game, he is the classic of what happens on the field, stays on the field.
