Considering the man in question smashed a century and took 9 for against Rose Lakes in his last 2 day effort, there is no question on what I've asked the lads to wear on Saturday ;)

Should have had 7 but OB picked the right fielder to hit a catch to. Fitzroy had us in all sorts of trouble all innings and although they are 0-4 dont think they are that far away.
Young Jarrad McLeod showed maturity beyond his years with a very important 20 odd, makes you wonder how he couldnt get a game in Enfield's A's who play in divvy 2....their loss!

A Paralowie outright was always on the cards and well done, just hope you can knock off those Morialta boys who hide themselves in div. 2. Just goes to show that it pays to have someone from your club on the exec.. ;)

Yeah good move by the young lad to make a move, showed what he is made of in those tense overs. It might be remiss of me not to also mention how good looking i was yesterday.

don't worry I got photos of your late entrance! Not sure the camera was able to capture all your beauty though!

Need IMAX to catch ALL the beauty.....even Tarcs who was at square leg said it reminded him of baywatch.

So what has happened to the idea of a special committee to look at ways of helping this comp to survive, havent heard a thing about it lately. Any one from the committee wanna comment?

I heard a rumour a number of clubs have got together to start afresh a new super hardwicket league located through central, inner northern adelaide...

would be nice to sit back and have a few bevvies with the rose park lads, looking forward to it quietly.
should be a good game, rose park playing good cricket and nek just starting to play reasonable cricket. we are working hard to be the team we were last season and with the training we have been doing it is starting to pay off.
bucky is a task master and we are greatfull to the great man for his time and effort he is putting in.

So Bucky is your coach?...vista have OB.....What do other clubs do?

We had always used our A grade captain as our "coach" for years until about 2005ish when Bob Lisle came out to training and suugested we had a dedicated coach...so i did the coaching course and became coach for a couple of years. We now use Tommy as a training coordinator and senior players take different drills, sessions. Interesting to see alot of community clubs now have coaches that didnt in the past. Opinions as to whats the best way of doing it?

trust me , bucky would be more interested in playing than coaching , but due to an injury to his knee (state indoor cricket titles) he still is a big part of our playing group . would rather him play than coach due to all this running stuff......but he is doing an excellent job.
hey coach, buddy, pal old friend.....

mmmmm....Vergina!!

At Pv we have always tried to have a coach, a training co-ordinator and a selection panel which is made up of Captains and exec. members. In my opinion, its best to try and share the load of duties and resposibilites to try and avoid player burn out. Of course it doesnt always work out this way as you need the guys willing to do these roles.
This is why OB has been like a breath of fresh air through our club. I have been at the club for 20 years now and i dont remember anyone having such an immediate impact that he has had. He has worked well with those young lads ( and some of us old fogies ) that are willing to listen to what he has to say as he has a wealth of experience and knowledge. He is now a valuable part of our club and i hope he will be for many years to come. We now also have a BBQ after every match and he runs the "bar" so that we now have another stream of income for the club.
His past clubs really missed a golden opportunity and let him slip through their fingertips, to which i'm very appreciative! Thanks fellas ;)

Rose Park do not have a coach, a training co-ordinator or a selection panel, they just have Rob O Gorman
I wish I was as good a cricketer as what Phantom tells me he is

Fair enough too, the greatest spiritual leader since the Deli lama i just wish you guys would stop hiding him in the lower grades and play him in your A's so we can all try to work out his weaknesses- if infact he has any!
Not only is Rob the greatest Rat catcher and Cockroach killer in SA but his mere pressence is generally enough to make any opposition team shake in their boots

Smasha- we train thursday nights from 530 at Cedar College Oakden and yes i do have your shirt. ( I"m often late though)

It remains to be seen whether this 'immediate impact' translates into ongoing premiership success. ;)

I'm looking forward to catching up with the Fitzroy lads for a training sesh or two before Xmas. 8)

I guess by saying "immediate impact" im referring to the fact that i dont have to worry about taking the training session ect.
Thursday for me at work is one of the busiest days and to get to practice and have everything set up and practice well under way is
is a relief. He's lucky enough to finish work early so he can get there and set up the ball machine and get everyone organised.

As for premiership success i think theres 5 teams that have a chance this season. On their day any one of these teams can win. Nowhere near as one sided as it used to be, but in ever game so far ( for us anyway ) catches have won matches.

Absolutely mate, gaining the Great Man, 'OB' is a massive coup for PV. :D Can't believe that Enfield took him for granted all that time.

Definitely the last thing a Club Prez needs to think about (training etc), particularly one that's as busy as a one-legged tap dancer like yourself. I think Tige's summation of OB and what he meant to the rep side in Sydney last Xmas summed him & his efforts up perfectly. 8)

All jokes a side all clubs should have a coach. if you have the people power you should have a batting, bowling and feelding coach to to take some pressure of the head coach. the clubs that win grand finals are the ones that have planed well all year. its not brain surgery.
