Beaver is the only cricketer in the world who gets away with wearing his hat on the side. If the wu-tang clan had a first XI he would open the batting. A true south coast gangster

Spot on there Offcutter, i am not sure whether he is trying to create a new fashion statement in the game of cricket but it looks sh#t and i have never seen him make a run or take a wicket he must be a gun fielder

With comments like that it's no wonder people talk about you and your club the way they do. Never have i heard someone say what a good bunch of blokes Mclarens are, infact it's very much the opposite. Offcutters comment has some comedy about it but yours is just derogative. Funny thing is you call yourself Mr Teach.

What's going on here. Is WIW24 & Mr Teach the same person or is there some serious man love going on down there with vintage just around the corner.

Also i was told that come finals Compass can pick anyone they want to play. So that would mean that Binnsy/Bartschy/Smithy who has played Maroons all year could front for Golds.

Just interested in where you're getting your info from there HW.. I too was informed that come finals time that, similarly to A / B grade, you could pick anyone from the B Grade team to play in the A's if required, even if you haven't played any games. I seem to recall at the start of the season however, that the treatment of the 2 Compass A Grades would be the same as if you have 2 C Grades (as Compass have had in the past), where you need to nominate players by a cetain date, and those players are aligned to those teams... was this your understanding?
May be a bit hard on the Compass boys if come finals time they cannot then select players from their "b" grade team if they have injuries / absences..

Good point there Offcutter. I reckon out of Binns, Bartsch & Smith it is only really Binns who would make the Golds side considering the rumours that Tommo, Braidwood, Dzamko, Nash etc. are back this week. If they did not nominate two A grades this year I would imagine that Binns would be in their first side anyway.

As for the talk about young Beveridge, a quick look at MyCricket has him 16th in the run scoring this year. Plenty of 'big names' sitting below him!

Jimmy Recard wrote:So where back to the real cricket this weekend and there are some massive games! Let see if we can predict a few winners!!!

Aldinga v Port Elliot - Top of the table clash, winner will kick away from the rest of the comp, will be atleast a game and a half clear of 2nd. Aldinga too strong imo

McLaren Districts v Mount Compass Gold - Massive game for both sides to keep in touch with the 4, Compass Gold lose this and thats just bout their season goodbye. Game could go either way, both sides rely a lot on their captains to perform, and if either connor or ifould can make a big score then that could be the difference. Compass to win in the last over of the day.

Mount Compass Maroon v Encounter Bay - Enc Bay playing some really good cricket atm and should knock Maroons off quite easily.

Willunga v Goolwa - Massive game for both sides, Willunga need to win to stay in the top 4, Goolwa need to win or their season will be just about over. Both sides coming off losses will want to start 2010 with a Win! If Goolwa play to their potential then should be a very close game, all depends which goolwa rock up to play! Of course i'll pick Willunga to win, should be a tough, close game tho!

heard that there will be a few 'regulars' missing this week for goolwa. maybe rockyb could confirm or deny.
