In Riverland cricket I found him the hardest to bowl to, and even up to his final time at the crease he walked to the crease with an air of confidence that makes you know it is going to be one hell of a ball to get rid of him.

Good luck to all B Grade attacks in future years!!

Especially if Charlie's still in the Bs too!
The old firm reunited!

na, Doc's yabbying with me next year.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep

Was a shame that we couldn't get over the line for him yesterday. :(
One of the best players the riverland has ever seen and a great bloke to go with it.
It has been an absolute priviledge to play with the man over the years. Never a dull moment!

Rip, it's a pity the rain didn't hold off, really is.
Could've been a cracker finish between two competitive teams.

Congrats to Doc on a truly great Div 1 R'Land/Grade cricket career. By memory he played briefly at West Torrens (I think?), before coming back to Berri in the early-mid 90's. I think it was 94/95 when he compiled back-to-back double tons in the one Riverland season. And along with the likes of Charlie, Lenny, Kova, Wino Snr & Siv', formed a really formidable batting unit around that time. Throw in Fridgey Frankel, 'H', Dougie and Pelter, it was an awesome team. :D

Only ever played 1 Country Carnival match with Doc (finally lured him here for the week of hit'n giggle) back in around 2003 and put on 80-odd with him at Brighton #1. Would've loved to have played more cricket with him, and definitely would've if I wasn't still playing in Adelaide when I was living in Berri. Great bunch of blokes. 8)

Well played Doc. =D>

Short stint with Prospect before Mums home cooking lured him home. ;)

Any word on how Monash are shaping up after a couple of stalwarts have jumped ship?

Renmark played Loxton on Saturday @ Renmark.

Renmark made 160 - Turk made 46 and Derek Stevens and Dan Shawyer made mid 20's.

Loxton replied with about 145. Walter made 49. The other opener Graetz??? made 20-odd. Jake Albrecht would have made about the same.

Loxton were 0/85 at one stage before a good fightback by renmark. Loxton were missing a few batsman (Inglis, Deren) and perhaps one or two others, while Renmark were missing Fitzy, Duthie and Siv.

The outfield was as good as I have ever seen at renmark, a good shot through the infield = a boundary. Now if we can sort out that pitch.

Is hard to see them getting back from here, unless Monash, Barmera and Cobby combine to make one strong club! This is a model all sports should be looking at. Big, strong competitions, with big strong clubs rather than small comps dotted around everywhere, i.e. A's B's, Renmark District, Mid Murray!

Well it was close last Friday, but yep, todays edition of the Pioneer has cricket relagated with the likes of Yachting, Volleyball and small bore rifle shooting.

However! Congrats to the Riverland Weekly for their new cricket column.
I'm sure players both past and present, supporters and most importantly, up and coming youngsters will enjoy the more comprehensive look at the local scene. :D

Don't worry about the whole page of cricket results and photos in last Tuesday's Pioneer Rippa
With Friday's preview, which is generously provided by an SAFooty poster, cricket is actually getting more coverage than last season in the Pioneer.
And last season you were praising the Pioneer and bagging the Weekly. Make up your mind old mate!
(BTW - This week's Tuesday coverage was a bit smaller because I've been away).
