3 b grade teams are concerned about playing on port oval, fine dont schedule them to play on it.

that leaves the 5 a grade teams to put it to a vote, and if ur math skills arent that good that would mean it would be 3 for playing at port 2 against, done, problem solved!!!!!!

Quick one before a hard day at the office. Figures are not correct, you mention 3 b grade teams, you failed to consider that 2 a grade clubs who voted nay have b grade teams so there would be 5 teams not playing there. One point i thought may have been picked up on and i checked with my delegate. Reported on this forum the voting was 5 to 3 to accept the program. Told it was a vote that they could all vote on including the officials so it seems three people did not vote. I was told who they were and i can only guess but i reckon the tally would have been 6 for, to 5 against accepting the original program. The losers would have had to accept the first program. Very interesting.

the comitee members cant vote any more, they only get a casting vote

Wrong. Anyhow time for the pub.

Maybe some clubs should try and get sponsorship for themselves and not make the PPCA get sponsorship. I am pretty sure we all know a few business owners in the town.....

Are you suggesting fluff wauchope would be influenced by what other people say. Do you know him? Why not ask him face to face next time you see him at the cricket?

I will, he would of been apart of the secret meeting where all teams got what they wanted.

Maybe instead of going the pub you could make a donation to your club.

While you are at it perhaps you will ask the three officials why they did not vote. If they had the result would have went the other way. Again for your benefit, 6 to 5. What don't you understand ? As an aside i do donate to my club, quite often and substantially. Do you?

I do not know the officials that did not vote, frankly I don't care. Those clubs have just given away to play on one of the best decks in country SA for nothing.

Yes I donate to the club weekly through my punting wins and other club fines. Risdon B grade themselves have already filled a "fines tin" which probably has >$800 in it.

I am open to be corrected but my understanding is the entire ground is licenced, similar to the port Oval during cricket. Lions hold the licence i think. Will check though. Under your description then it is ok for cricket clubs to take their own grog to the port oval as long as they don't sell it. Why didn't you tell us that before, we could tick it up and pay later. Easy solved and would have been no need for this fuss.

No because at Port oval you can not take alcohol in the grounds.

I am not sure about the Lions licencing the whole oval, could be interesting if a cricket club was found to be selling alcohol to minors what happens, sounds risky for the Lions.

That will be interesting Sky Pilot. Thanks for the heads up. Matts a good bloke, lets hope he is fair and balanced with his commentary. Your sentence tends to make me think that may not be the case. I hope he invites a guest from either side of the equation to present their case. Very interesting to see who would take up the offer.

That is my point squids, i'm told the lions hold the licence that covers the entire oval during the football season. I assume that only applies when games are there. Again i'm told you are not supposed to take your own alcohol into the ground. Similar situation to the port oval setup during cricket season. Cricket season doesn't bother the lions, their licence only applies during football. Pointless debate really as is the cricket one over the issue that was resolved during the week.

Yes i agree that is why i think two of them would not have voted, the third one, only he would know. I dont think it would have caused further arguement if thats the proper word. Once any issue is put to a vote every club should know one point of view is going to lose, one wins. You then accept it and get on with it. On sites like this we probably don't help because we keep inflaming the situation. As i see it every club has got what they wanted, still plenty of cricket at the port oval for those that chose to play there and the others are doing there thing. If any one thinks pirie cricket is going to cave in over this issue then they are delusional. Lets hope all players from every club behave and no one carrys on before, during or after their game. No need for it.

Induna into Americain

If it doesn't rate again complex pitches might be okay with a bit of humidity but it doesn't look good. Also it comes down to the umpires discretion.

Not sure on all of them, only what i was told but need to verify.
Bats, Pt germein and south-port. afternoon game? You can tell me that.
Wandearah and Risdon in the A's. One game on turf and one on a hard wicket.
Also got told there is a good junior game on at port tomorrow, some trial game for a spot in country carnival teams.
Good to have a look at and support the kids.
