, you'd have to agree that Wehrmann is one of the in-form bats of Div 1 and the ability to be quite destructive, and him swinging at anything he can reach whilst chasing an outright is hardly indicative of Gully's ability. Pretty hard to bowl to slappers on hard-wicket when they're in that mood. Fair to say Wehrmann wouldn't be quite as 'enterprising' under far different game circumstances. And also fair to say that won't be the last over Gulls bowls before the Carny..
I might be a bit wrong here but sounds like to me you are saying Gully was the better player out of the battle. Seems like there are some players who are just going to be gifted because of what may happen.
Wehrmann has made prob more runs than anyone since the middle of last year, in big games as well, but wouldn't get a start in front of some blokes who think it is there right to be there.
