Hey BLOODS, firstly the game against Aldinga they bowled you guys out for 61. In reply Dingy's could only amass 48. after day 1 Eliot's were 1/21.On the second day you guys shut up shop from the start rather than chasing an outright. When it was asked if a target was going to be set, the reply was, and quote "Not with the fire power Aldinga has got". With 6 points in the bag already and nothing to lose but everything to win. What was going on there. Pt Elliot could be a game clear on top of the ladder already.

Secondly Sherminator did say for "variety" a lefty could be thrown in. Young Jake Mcmillan would be an exceptional choice, he would be around all that experience to learn and grow into a better cricketer. He is far from rubbish and will be a future leader in this association for many years to come. Surely even you would say that comment is a bit harsh.

Mate i've got nothing but respect for you guys, magnificent oval, good bunch of blokes & succeeding in the highest grade in the GSCA is clearly on your radar but don't bag the kids. We need them to love the game for as long as possible. If you feel the need to bag someone pick on Chopper or Nummy, there used to it. For instance Chopper's dog is called "Donkey" for all obvious reasons. ;)

i get what your saying and im not bagging him at all it is in humor! and yes harsh but why do i cop it?? i dont deserve to be called rubbish?? so i dish it out ... yes good cricketer but it would be unfair to players who have played well this year to be over looked by someone who has come back from quitting thats my opinion..?? doesnt matter where we should be on the ladder a win is a win...we should of pushed for a outright but be realistic what is the chance of bowing a A grade team out cheap again just for outright points remember we had to make the runs for them to chase we dont having the batting power to smash a big score and send them and roll them again we are building as a team and have played some great cricket and got some wins on the way but you certainly wouldnt call us the best team in the league yea?? oh and i love nummys dog ! thats a classic

2.R.Edwards
3.B.Garrard
4.A.Evans vc
5. L.Bailey
6.C.Lintern

Yeah some good points there Red Baron. I was strongly considering Tim Clarke. I reckon there is not too much separating Clarke, Bailey and Wilson for that spot in my side. Also considered Johnstone too, in McMillan's spot, but thought that with Lintern, Spurls, Butler etc. just needed something a bit different to mix up the attack a bit. Duncombe also a good option too!

I guess that is why I am definitely NOT a selector!!

Jimmy just checked the GSCA site on 'MyCricket' and the schedule is out....I see you boys have drawn Compass in round 1! Good Luck....Also happen to stumble across the latest 'betfair' odds on the T20 Comp! Listed below are the prices...

Goolwa - $2.10
Encounter Bay - $3.00
Mt Compass - $3.10
Willunga - $ 4.50 out from $3.00
Aldinga - $ 7.10 into $ 5.80
Pt Elliot - $10
Any other Team Not Listed $ 25

would be a great idea if southern's prepare a pitch that is respectable. the one they put up last year was laughable. cannot beleive people go from playing on that to player for the redbacks.

would be better off having it at Enc bay or reynella (not sure if there is more turf down southern)

Well well well, this page has been very quiet for a while now. The twenty20 tournament is on this weekend with some exciting match ups. I can confirm that the boys down at mclaren are very excited about it and will be fielding a very young side. we will be playing against one of the more experienced sides in Aldinga but we are very much lookinf forward to the new challenge

The 20/20 competition was a good change and concept. Few things that can be tweaked for next year to make it even better eg, inner circles on all ovals.

Yesterday the winners were Enc Bay, Port Elliot, Aldinga and Mount Compass.

Today Enc Bay got up against Aldinga in a great game at Victor oval by 7 runs and Compass bowled Port Elliot out cheaply and reached their total with 4 wickets in hand.

In the final, Bays posted a big total (by the weekends standards) of 142. Compass were in the hunt at the midway point of their innings but the Bay boys were eventual winners.

Deserved winners, were the best team of the weekend, not by far but were still the best.

Congrats!
