I can appreciate some scepticism on behalf of Grade clubs but the fact is that the entire cricket department has worked far smarter (through working together in teams as well as being better resourced) in the last 12 months than ever before. Nothing in sports admin shows results immediately and what has happened this year WILL bear fruit given even half a chance by Grade clubs.

As long as they chuck away those Twenty-20's

Fat chance of that

Think he is referring to the Lower Grades having double header 20/20 games counting for premiership points. Keep the Comps separate FFS

Apparently the covers weren't on at all the previous week (on the Thurs night/Fri morning) but the full square covers were down this week.

The Sydney A Grade comp has two dayers, one dayers and Twenty20's all counting towards the same premiership table.

Seems to be causing a big of angst in Adelaide though.

Its fine, to have 20/20s in the lower grades but 2 on the same day is shitehouse. Playing them is frustrating and i didnt speak to an opposition captain who like the set up! play one, start is same time as a 2 dayer (1pm).

Reckon Port will get there. Have built up a good team and a very timely washout on the weekend (chasing 407!).

Fourth spot wide open.

Someone suggested that all the lower grade and junior T20's should get played on the first two weekends in October. Get them out of the way and basically use them as a "NAB Cup" warm up event. Bit of a 'carnival atmosphere' at the grounds with multiple pitches.

Then A Grade play those Tuesday/Wednesday night ones in Nov/Dec which work pretty well. Sometimes get some good crowds and a good way to bring the whole club together.

I really hope the Port boys can get either one of those spots. Been a long time since the club has played finals and I think they deserve the opportunity to play.

They are only in contention due to 2 outrights. 1 against us after a scenario was set up by the skipper (the win fully was deserved however) and 1 that will be called the "infamous council assisted outright" ;)

But in all seriousness they have taken massive steps forward as a club since i played them in C grade in my first year at TTG and we beat them outright 15 overs after tea on the first day. But i dont like seeing port in any type of final no matter the sport

Port won't win another game. East Torrens will beat them this round and then Sturt will beat them in the last game.

Might depend on when the DLA kids go home, Port have probably benefitted more than any other club throughout this DLA time, Borthwick has been very good.

With the washouts, probably works like this. thursday is major preperation day for wickets, if rain on Thursday, they don't bother. If rain Friday, probably most work done, put covers on, hey presto if covers good enough. Must admit was very surprised so many games played, Port chasing 400+ big bonus for them to get the 7.5 for washout, but who knows, they might have chased them down.

The Buff's Jaik Mickelburgh has already gone home. Essex wanted him home to rest in time for the pre-season tour to the Caribbean in a few weeks.

I think he thoroughly enjoyed his time here and wish him all the best for the future. His only gripe was some of the aspects of the DLA. One would hope that when he gets back Essex give some constructive feedback to the operators of the DLA otherwise if the same things are said every time a club sends one over they might pull the pin on sending them here.

Glandore last week was ready to go on Thursday night. The Curator had read the weather forecast and prepared accordingly obviously if there was no rain on Friday he would have had more time to finish things off but enough was done to get through

They weren't too far away from Sturt last round.
My comment was more about Port than it was about ET from what i have heard they are getting a bit ahead of themselves down there.
