This is an interesting point. Do they still have a reserve day on Monday for 1st Grade Grand Final? How does it work, based on time lost for weather?

If not, TTG will win as likely to be not much play on Sunday.

Interestingly they lost to 2 of the bottom three sides in the back half of the season

Well a fantastic weekend for our club! Great reward for all, in particular for club legends both players and volunteers.

The A grade played the complete game and didn’t give Sturt a sniff. On reflection the side got there on the back of performances from across the board. Even though Pagey hit a club record 890odd runs for the year, it was the fact that when needed, each player stood up in one game or another. Evidenced by the emergence of Ben Atkinson with the new ball 27 wickets, addition after round 5 of Joe Gatting (who won us the semi) +500 runs, Weaves continued leadership and 500+ runs, Tim Evans 500+ runs, Sommers 30+ wickets and 280 runs, Brad Evans 20+ wickets and 220 runs.

Once the A grade was done and dusted the squad packed up and went to kensi to watch the C grade, which made for a great atmosphere. Kensi lads on one side and TTG on the other. A great quality game of C grade cricket, over 400 runs and 19 wickets. 1 piece of brilliance was the difference, young Tommy Wood took one of the best diving catches (ala Glen McGrath at AO) you will see to dismiss a set batsmen. After that partnership was broken, the last 5 wickets fell regularly and the rest is history. Hard to believe the C grade only snuck in to the finals by .7 I think, then in the semi lost on first innings but won outright.

Well done to the Bulls on the men's premiership and to the Eagles for doing the double in the Women's.

Unbelievable catch that got the TTG 'Hill' in full chorus.. you could feel the momentum swing after that.

Funny thing pressure, 2 run outs and a stumping after that catch and probably fell 5 minutes short of a patch of rain that would've called off the game and given them the win (albeit would've ruined a fantastic spectacle!)

Agree Burras, young Tom Wood dined out on that last night and so he should have, really was a match turner. So proud of our club and the players, we were spread far and wide, not often you'll get the entire A grade turn up across town to watch the C grade finale, including the State captain. I know the atmosphere kept our boys pumped up and I know Te players, ours at least loved it. Full marks to Kensington who borrowed TTG covers for the c grade match to ensure no poor pitch interruptions, a credit to their club and the spirit of how we should approach our sport.

Dominant performance in the A grade, day only marred by 1 hour of rubbish at the end thanks to the Sturt coach.

Tough loss for Sturt but quite a young team on the rise. Kelly, Kelly, O'Connell, Dudley all have real ability. Perhaps need one more quick to balance their team as Claring-Bould is a good bowler but durability issues creeping in

Full marks to Kensington who borrowed TTG covers for the c grade match to ensure no poor pitch interruptions, a credit to their club and the spirit of how we should approach our sport.

This was very good BF, I noticed that when the rain came and the covers were needed the Kensi lads were straight onto it when they could have easily let the game wash out. Credit to them.

Interesting 4 x flags shared between two clubs TTG and Sturt. Whats the breakdown across all grades / genders?? I know the host club of the 1st Grade were keeping a close eye on both clubs, in particular how we can do better across the grades to make grand finals. Mick Weatherald spoke to a few glenelg people about some things Sturt have put in place as a young club having success.

Congrats to sturt and TTG for obviously doing a lot of things right, hopefully we can be enthusiastic we are not far off with three semi final losses. What happened in the last hour bullsforever? Was the sturt coach not there? Bit gutless if he couldnt stay to congratulate old Club beat his new club, especially when he is mates with a lot of them. Unless he was at other games to watch premierships? Still poor to not stay supporting his young team all the way. Maybe he left because he didnt agree with all the players wanting to bat again?

Ben stayed until after the presentations and then went to their successful D grade I think. No issues there.

I think BF is referring to the second batting innings and the need for it to go ahead/for as long as it did. They were 200+ behind with Gregory injured, could have been earlier beers for all
