But very quick, I've seen the ball seemingly gain speed along the carpet.

* Dual registration can only be obtained and registered by using the appropriate form supplied by the Association and/or entering the appropriate data into the approved data base. A completed Dual Registration Form will show the player’s primary club/association (where the player was first registered) and the secondary club/association (with whom the player now wants to play for). The Association is the only body in the PDCA to enter dual registrations into MyCricket.

* Dual registrations must be lodged with the Association Secretary or his/her nominated proxy prior to the player participating in any match.

* Dual registrations can be between PDCA and other community associations if the club is a member of both associations:
(a) dual registration must be obtained from both associations.
(b) a permit must be obtained before every match the player plays in the PDCA if he
normally plays with the other association.

Tyler played 4x B2, 1x C3 and 10x U15 games at IFDCC last year - zero at NEK, therefore IFDCC would be his primary club, and a permit to play at NEK required, particularly since no clearance had gone through.

How is the under 16 comp going out there mate?

Dying in the arse in the PDCA, mind you they keep changing the age groups, my son is 12 and has only ever played in his own age group one season, and that was to help Virginia out as they were struggling to field and under 11 team and Craigmore was full, so he played 12's there in the same year.

Would be closer, you can pick him up on your way through, text me to let me know if we're batting or bowling so I can determine what time to get up and whether I'm cooking breakfast or not.

Aside from Dublin, he plays at the furthest club away from our house, we were changing clubs until the Wednesday before the season began.

We have gone to Friday nights.
10 team comp with 8 having turf decks. Only started last week but increased numbers at that age group and seems to be working ok.
U14’s has 14 sides and we split the u12’s into 3 divisions with 32 sides

This!

I've thought for a long time that jnrs should be trialled Friday nights - get the kids after school, parents don't have to get up early and run around, and then rush to their senior game if there is one.

Time for comps to think outside the box.

10's and 12's have moved to Friday nights.

When I coached 16's a few years back I invited all our opposing clubs to use our home games as Friday night fixtures, only 1 took it up and it was a huge success financially for us, BBQ sold out, parents went in for a drink, joined in with our weekly mega raffle and hung around for a while.

16’s play exclusively Friday nights apart from one club whose ground has Little Athletics and is unavailable. 14’s are still Saturday morning. 12’s are a mixture depending on clubs requests, ground availability and scheduling

The last thing 16 year olds would wanna be doing at 8am Saturday is getting ready for cricket, I remember in my day I'd be staggering home and seeing my coach parked at the front of my house waiting for me.

I'd get in the car and he'd say "I think we'll bat first if we win the toss today"

We found more and more kids had part time jobs on Saturday mornings. Added benefits is it allows the u14’s to use the turf decks on Saturday mornings and if numbers are light on Friday nights some of the u14 kids choose to play Friday night and Saturday

As close to 5pm as possible and in the first week we got 30-35 overs in I believe. As the daylight hours get a bit longer we should see 40 overs no problems. Need good coaches to keep the game moving and push them through

Do they have like 5 over stints from one end at a time?

yep we are doing 5 from one end.
Also dont know if just the way it has worked or wether its the Friday nights but the quality of coaches at most of the teams i am aware of is significantly beter. ie not kids dads, its senior players.

So it was 6 teams last year, increased to 10 this year.
There is talented kids coming from other associations to play, we have a gumeracha, birdwood and cambrai lad with us. I believe there is a couple form clare playing with Eudunda. Trinity college students are available for the Gawler/sandy creek teams and theres probably some Para districts kids sneaking in to gawler to. all makes for a better comp.
Also as Jim said there is no trouble getting an U14 to fill in when he doesnt have to give up his big fish status in his own age group.
