Maybe it's time RockyB comes back and takes the new ball, from all accounts he was the most promising bowler in th world at one stage.

sounds like there is some unrest in the goolwa A's rocky. With Evans & Spurling pretty much bowling the whole day, i'd like to know what happened to all of Goolwas other bowlers?

How tight is it becoming in both A's & B's. If Aldinga & Elliots get knocked of with wins to Bays & goolwa the ladder will have 1 game between 1st & 7th with Districts back to bottom only 1.5 games of top spot. After Xmas will definately be interesting.

In the B's the top 5 teams are all on 24 points. A win to Goolwa could knock Willunga from top, to be just scraping in the 4 if Bays & Pongy's win with the loser of Aldinga V's Districts dropping to possibly 6th. Losing 2 games half way through the year & not even in the top 5.

Definately an important round for many clubs this week.
Good luck to all.

PS: Give Bartschy the Ball. The bloke is a proven wicket taker. ;)

Thats a good point Rocky, but I guess having such a young A grade captain there are going to be times where mistakes are made. It is a brave decision from your club but I'm sure Andy will learn with experience and be a better captain in the long run. Captaining any side for the first time, especially A grade, there is going to be a steep learning curve. I don't know Andy but I am sure he will learn a lot throughoout the year which will benefit him as a captain and Goolwa as a cricket club.

HaHaHa!!! That bloke is a hack!!! I thought he was supposed to be an opening batsman, not a bowler. Perhaps he should focus on learning to bat first before begging for more overs!!! And what's with his accent??? Is he an Aussie or a Pom??? Things must be tough at Compass if he's getting a regular game there!!!

That would just be unfair to the opposition if RockyB opened up...

C'mon Sherminator, Evans bowled 29 overs in a day. That is a classic case of "HUNGRY" or it is a "LACK OF FAITH" in your fellow team mates. Either way some people playing for Goolwa would be asking if they are a "Player" or a "Sponsor" for Goolwa CC. Wonder how many A graders call it an early break for Xmas this week, they must be thinking that they're not really needed, by the looks of things. This looks like a case of why a bowler should never be a captain.

Don't think the bloke is a hack mate!!!! Not sure who you are but Bartschy is a mate of mine and a fine half Aussie/Half Pom sort of human being. Talk to young guns A.Hunter & Ziggy from Compass and they will tell you who the person is they look to for inspiration when there toiling the hard yards on a Saturday afternnon. Young Marto once Quoted he wouldn't mind getting a bit of surgery to look more like Bartschy.
IMO it would be a crime not to give such a cunning master of the Red Ball a bowl every week.
As i said he is a proven wicket taker, just take a look at the stats!!!!!

Sherman someone has to fill up the overs for the maroons, Crosby isn't going to be able to charge in 35 overs straight as much as we would like him to... As for his batting he could maybe go to trainings and face some true nibblers!

Yeah we rolled Goolwa for 115 with an exceptional bowling performance from all McLaren bowlers. I seem to recall someone saying a few pages back that mcLaren do not have any bowling power? very poor comment.

Goolwa bowled well though too having McLaren reeling 8 down but some confident batting from Galletly got them home. Another great sign for Mclaren was the return to form of Ifould, he looked awesome and really took a liking to the bowling of McDonald it was great to watch. he was dismissed by one of the best catches i have ever seen by Andy Evans and that is no exageration.

Good result for you boys Mr. Teach! I think it was no coincidence that Ifould's lack of runs and wickets has been a major factor in Mclaren's early season form. When he is up and going, McLaren's is a much better side! What happened to Mark 'Bruno' Natale?? A week or so ago everyone was so excited at the prospect of the former club legend fulfilling his massive potential, but no game this week?

A bowler should never be captain hey?? Keith Schofield seems to be going ok!! 5 & 2 record and top of the table at Christmas! Plus he is only a young bloke too! The point I am trying to make is a first time captain is going to make some mistakes. As long as he learns from them then it is not really a problem. It is up to the older, more experienced guys to offer some guidance. I'm sure Schoey has received a load of advice from the likes of Bryce 'the gun' Garrard and Boyde 'Hagred' Millar at stages during this season, to the benefit of the team.

WOW! Thats pretty perceptive of you Shake n Bake!! Maybe it's true, maybe it's not! Maybe it is just a complicated case of Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)? My therapist informs me that is the new term for Multiple Personality Disorder .... What do you think Mr. Teach??

I think u will find that Evans actually approached his experiened team mates in Bailey and Spurling and they told him to continue bowling. This wasn't his decision, he was told to keep bowling as he was bowling well. 4 for 86 off 29 i think is a good effort on a quick goolwa oval. Fielding was the reason that match was lost not because of the bowling.
