Couple of good wins on the weekend by the looks of it.
Renmark hung on to knock off Berri and Loxton comfortably beat Waikerie.
Still no Valentine for Waikerie, who should make a big difference when he returns.
Looks like Waikerie shared the bowling around a bit too.

I did hear Valentine back this weekend, apparently the birth of a child is the reason why. Duffield possibly in too will strengthen them up alot, Goldings first game on Saturday too. Should get better with a few more weeks one would think

Here's a question for Riverland cricket followers, who would be some of the better players to have played cricket in the Riverland in any era.I know the old man used to talk about Robert Minns,Kev Gillis and Buck Minnis from Barmera,Bill Cropper,Kev Harrington from Renmark then you have Wayne Darling from Waikerie,Gary Murdoch and Lank Trealoar,Peter Margarey from Loxton then you can throw in Neil Weinert, Doc Clifford,Todd Charlton and Simon Frankel.

Leggie Chris Tschirpig is a forgotten legend of the local game.
SA Country rep who Bradman apparently regarded very highly, formed a quality spin attack with Magarey through the 70s and early 80s.

Another bloke to consider is the recently deceased Clarrie Reynolds, by all accounts he could smack a ball. Rip would be able to say more about him.

In my time? Michael Gutsche, Doc Clifford, Todd Charlton and Hayden Cawse are all top of the pile for mine.
Fitzy and Evan Richardson were also pretty handy but, along with Brett Weinert, we only saw them relatively briefly at their peak before moving to the city.
Good to see Fitzy back involved at A grade level.

Yeah, got slapped up by Clarry a few times. You have to give credit to a bloke gutsy enough to bat without gloves.
I always rated Wayne Schiller pretty highly too, he was tough to bowl at. Doug Stewart and Chris Linhart are a couple of others that could be tossed into the mix also.
My old man has always said that Robert Minns was one of the best bats to play in the comp. He actually carried the drinks for England on a couple of occasions before he ventured out to Oz I am told.

Very good cricketer and played in a very good side in 99/00.
Barmera Cobby had Gaerth, Page, Reynolds and Taylor to name a few in that side.
I only really saw Gerter in one season though so I'm not sure what I can contribute regarding him in comparison to others.
Skiddy deliveries, if I recall, that snuck up on you.

Loxton and Waikerie-Ramco winners from the weekend.

Ladder should look something like this:
Loxton 3 0 0
Renmark 2 0 1
Waikerie-Ramco 1 2 1
Berri 1 2 0
Monash 0 3 0

Waikerie-Ramco has the bye in the final round so one-day final will be between Loxton and Renmark.
They play each other this weekend too.

I think there is an association match this sunday in Lameroo. Is this pitch hard wicket or turf??

I heard Fridgey did a pretty good hamstring on Saturday? A few of the Renmark B grade boys said it looked like a good one? Is the big fella gonna play again before christmas, or just put it on ice until the real stuff starts post-Xmas?

Monash has Deren play on the weekend. Any idea if he is back for good? Would make for a really even competition.

Josh only played one game for Tea Tree Gully A grade by the looks of it.
Hard to travel down to Adelaide every week, especially with a little one at home.

Josh would be welcomed back at Monash with open arms, their batting lineup looks very Australian like(fragile) with out him in the side plus his fielding will also help
