They should have though as Lofty only had 9 men for the last session and the Lofty boys were exhausted after fielding short the entire day because a player had pulled out at the last minute due to uni committments.

Not exactly going in for the kill, interesting move

Stirling out of the B grade!

Now brings in a bye for the B's and the A's. Apparently not enough players prepared to play 2 day cricket. Seems that the committee members at Stirling had good intentions, but no cattle to back it up.

My question is what happens to the results of teams that have already played Stirling? I think hey have been outrights to the teams that have played them. What happens to the player achievements?

Those games should either be wiped completely or another idea could be to give every team that is down to play Stirling the average points of what their opposition has achieved against them this year.

In my opinion, to avoid the bye in both A and B grade the Stirling A's should be put down to the B's so there is no bye in either grade, giving Stirling the opportunity to even register a win every once in a while.

What do you think?

Is it official? pretty disappointing if true that they didnt realise before the season started or dont try to tough it out at least until the end of the season....

They would have to wipe all scores and stats from the games played to be fair to all teams

Not sure how official it has been made yet - but the Mylor B grade boys last night were been told by their club president to have the next two weekends off.

Nairne 7/409 Not surprising as it was played at Echunga where there has been some BIG scores in recent years.
Last year in a 'B' grade match, Echunga made about 480 odd and declared with still about 15 overs available to them on the 1st day, fair to say they may have made 600+

Another interesting round of TVCA.

Lobethal defend their moderate total easily against Woodside.

From what I heard, Kersbrook collapsed against Paracombe to lose by 50 runs, then were forced back out into the field which they weren’t happy about. Paracombe then made it a very long afternoon for them.

Gumeracha enjoyed their first win in 12 months, chasing down Lenswood’s score with just 3 overs to play. Dropped catches and some sloppy bowling again hurting us

Let me start by saying - GOOOOOO PIRATES!!!!

After rolling the Cavaliers for 150 with 48 overs remaining - Pirate captain Rob "out to the worst ball in the history of cricket" Medlow decided that despite having a lead of 50 runs, his batsmen needed some extra practice and put the word out to bat out the afternoon in the searing 39* heat.

Luckily they earned a massive 2.88 points - yep you read it correctly - 2.88 points, gained by finishing 8/288 instead of having a crack at an outright victory (10 bonus points). Especially a Kersbrook side down to 10 men - A Frohling, N Johns, B Pearce, K Pearce, N Pearce, A Grovermann, K Sloan, R Parasiers, S Walker and an injured A Wehrman on one leg.

NO B James, R James, P James, A MacDonald, B Quill, D Bingos or K McLelland.

There were some well made 50's but unfortunately not one Pirate could crack a ton against such a fearsome Cavalier attack that absolutely steamed in at both ends - from the end of the concrete pitch!!!!

But of course in the end - Cricket was the real winner!!!!

hills a grade comp looks even again this year. premiers onkas rolled by the cabbages, meadows dominating again or should i say reid dominating again with bat and ball. bridgy have ekkerman in the side and will bring much needed batting depth. lofty look young and exciting and could possibly sneak in the 4. scrappy yet again look cellar dwellars while scibs rebuild with youth. looking forward to an exciting competition this yr.
