In other news, some big big wins on the weekend in the top grade, and OTH are sitting pretty on top after 2 rounds.. looking forward to some of these sides playing each other this year, looks like it's going to be a real tough battle for the 4 spots in the finals.

I think Craigmore will struggle against the stronger sides, so think it will be 5 teams into 4 spots..

On the bright side, they got Johnny away for a couple of runs this time around.
Did I see right though that there was a tie in grade three?

Surely you need to play with some sort of intent though?!? That is just ridiculous!

Hey lucky can you confirm that such is the arrogance/confidence of R&C, that several key players will be rested for this round against ATCO, and some younger players in the lower grades given the chance for some grade 1 experience?

Not sure it could be classed as arrogance but more the fact after fielding for 70 overs on Saturday with a team thats average age would be closing in on 80 the real worry is arthritis may set in and we may only have 2 people there, D.Jenner cos he's the only fit one amonst us and Bedgie cos mysteriously he got out of fielding for the above mentioned 70 overs.

That 20/20 thing is on this week hey? Wow, backing up on Sunday sounds like wicked fun!!

I'd suggest it was Craigmore's good fortune that he didn't play Saturday.. 8) rumour has it he was busy doing his own fielding elsewhere - rounding up the ladies ;)

That old "he started it" chestnut LOL. Lethal merely questioned the depth of who is generally the strongest club in the PDCA, you started the slanderous comments, you didn't let things slide.
You were scoring when the batsman ran deliberately into the bowler :D .

And yet such a terrible incident went unnoticed. Must have been close to a report!

Yes, Lethal merely said something, then I started slandering. Don't you have to say something untrue for it to be slander? Or is it just something that Smithfield people can't do and Westies people can? Like it's religion if I follow it, but a cult if I don't?

They'd just have to delve into the junior cricket factory yet again then...

Only got 14's and 11's out there mate, it's becoming an epidemic, kids don't really want to play cricket anymore.

Then most clubs would be in trouble then. Particularly if they lose 2 of their best cricketers as Lethal Dose questioned...

Pick 2 out of any club and see how they go. I reckon Westies have covered their losses more than adequately in recent times. And are covering the loss of their premiership captain and GF man of the match this year again.

I wouldn't be questioning Westies depth more than any other club is what I was getting at. The whole side have come through the junior system. No imports.

Tough to get kids these days. We've got some ideas we want to try over the winter months for next season, but kids just don't want to play cricket it seems. Then there are the kids who play to under 16s and quit to take up drinking and skirt chasing. We might have had a better B grade watching than playing!

I think it's had a massive effect throughout the senior grades already. We've been affected, no doubt but I also think we've fared better than any other club when it comes to replacing guys at the top. I'm still confident that if we lose Justin and Johnny, we've got enough to win flags in the future. Travis McIntyre for one will take plenty of wickets, Steve Wellington can take more overs than he has, Willi Sewell started his grade 1 days playing mostly as a bowler, Tyson Creek is more than handy and there are a couple other lads having a year off who are good enough. Jonesy himself has a good grade 1 record but has hardly played the last few years.
