He captained the B grade side last year ... This could turn out for the worse like when Keswick did the same two years ago? You think that was the wrong move bay boy with Williamson being appointed back then? Surely its a step in the wrong direction for South Road...

Why is it a step in the wrong direction appointing the B grade captain from the previous year to take over the A's position ?

The first thing that comes to mind for me is that he obviously wasn't good enough to play A's the year before so that is the first problem. In saying that if the side changes then he is good enough to play so that may cancel that out.

I would also think having too many former captains in the side would make it difficult for the new skipper.

So how are everyones sides shaping up. We have, for the first time in a very long time, no player aged over 30 in our A grade side. The average age of our side is 22.8 . The youngest being a debutant at 16 and the eldest being 28. We still feel as though this side will be competitive, but we are expecting to be a little less consistent.

Booney is investing his time into his Son nowadays Bazza. I don't have a problem with that. Alhtough he should get off his a$$ and play a couple of games at some stage hopefully.

Doubt it. His lad is playing baseball on saturday arvos so that counts him out. The Mrs and the list may entice him back to playing if it were only that he was doing on a saturday ;) :D .

Not that there is anything wrong with Mrs Boon. :D

Keswick!!!

if i was them i would be getting pretty excited about flying underneath the radar!!! the big news is wyc picking up players! but rusty almost got those boys to a flag last year off his own bat and arm, with heath coming straight from premier league turf to ASCA along with services from mckinley, orsmby, patching and mcgowran will be a more than solid team this year!!!

having an average age of 22 is good for the club and its future, but it hurt sheidow park last year in games against Keswick, plympton and ANA when we were in comfortable winning positions and lost the game... expect to lose 1 or 2 games this year where u should be winning

Gilly would have played the majority of the games in the A's last year. Certainly still hits the ball alright. As for if he'll be keeping all year, remains to be seen.

Back in the day, he was a gun keeper, so I have no doubt he has the ability, just whether the body holds up.
