great game, great deck, and tea was brilliant.

What happened? Based on the lack of runs scored by Reynella, I take it R Gabb is the injured player? If so, how long is he out for?

An interesting and unusual occurance happened on saturday, which I want to thank Mercedes OC for their sportsmanship.

A catch had been taken on the boundary, the fielder had control of the ball but did not have control of his movements, throwing the ball to the ground in anticipation of falling over the boundary. But he never actually fell over the boundary. Unsure of the direct rule for such an occurance one of the Mercedes fielders explained the rule and said he was not out. If he hadn't of said anything it might of been a different decision.

Such incidents of sportsmanship are becoming rare in the LO grades, with out umpires you of course have your team mates umpiring and decisions are very biased. For example the game before last I saw an opposition batsman get clean bowled and given not out, that was a first .

but I just thought I would add something positive.

Clearly it was a no-ball and the ump waited to check with the 3rd umpire!

we had this Vs Golden grove footballers, bowled the bloke only for the umpire to say he never seen the ball hit the stumps and that the keeper must of flicked the bales off, who was standing 4 meters behind the stumps

unfortunately you do get some dodgy umpiring in the lower grades, but crickets a great leveller and we do have umpires in finals so if you flout the rules or have blokes who dont know them then you get found out in finals.

3.6mm received in adelaide but things are starting to easy off it seems. Any chance?

Tigerpie, obviously it's bone dry down at Reynella and you boys are 100% to play?

I am sure Tigerpie has been contacted by the ATCA to find out about the condition of Reynella Oval. My sources have informed me that it is a little soft but may get a roll in this afternoon.
