Although we didn't set the world alight last season we gained a lot from the experience and more importantly, the kids that played gained a lot, we know what we lacked and hopefully we've filled these gaps.
18 days to go :D

That wouldnt be referring to a certain individual would it?

Not the one you're thinking of, he's just been caught in two minds of where he's at with his cricket and his social life. He's definitely not shopping.

We basically got given an ultimatum by someone who is yet to really prove themselves as a Grade 1 cricketer, I was pretty surprised.

Is Ben going again for you guys?

To my knowledge, Benny will be back for us. We won't lose any from our A grade and there's a chance we'll be picking up a couple of currently uncommitted players to add to it. Don't know names yet. As mentioned here previously, we want to push hard to get into Div 1 for next season.

Wasn't even talking about Alex, I had already stated that, Alex is a different circumstance and good luck with getting him in your A's, he only wants to play in your B's with his mates. But good onya for being a smartarse.

I thought you were a young fella, I didn't think I played against you in my bowling days :-k

nah i am a young bloke. feel pretty old but i guess ya gotta say 22 is young in comparison to some. but i was more referring to Thats Golds comment about u bowling again now, n being past ur bowling days. more of a sarcastic comment i made tbh.

and coz i cant be bothered quoting another comment and writing a whole new post... yeh i dunno exactly who is still staying or goin or returning up the hill. obviously Paul Cree is a definate gone, and one other who was apparently 'confirmed' to leave is now confirmed to stay. ive only managed to get out to one training sessions because of work commitments, or being too hung over to rock up on a sunday morning... so i havent seen a whole lot of people. hafta see what happens come start of the season n who is playin and not playin

Yeah, you wait half an hour after it's written on facebook and try taking the piss, we've had a gentleman's agreement between clubs not to poach each others players or hold up clearances if players obviously wish to leave, you guys are getting one story and we're getting another, standing up in front of everyone at training and apologising for his indecision and declaring that he's staying kind of makes you tink he's staying.
He has also told me many times that he only wants to play B's out there.

Well lightning McQueen that's the first time I've heard anything about a gentlemans agreement, but just something FYI Eastern Park never approached A. Tuckwell, I was the first person he spoke to when he was at a football training session with his mates, yes I will say I was keen when he said he would play for us! You say the agreement was to not hold up clearances yet 2 clearances have been denied and one is still waiting to be accepted? But that's alright we wont get into that will we? Cause we would rather sit on this forum and talk a whole load of crap....

Alex told us to deny the clearance, he's been told that he will be playing cricket in round 1, we will not make him miss out, he's likely to change his mind a few more times between now and then though. When was the last clearance put in then? There wasn't one in yesterday morning.
I've never said Eastern Park have poached him, you are the one raising the issues and then raving on about talking crap on the forum, there's two different stories circulating mate and at the end of the day Alex will be playing where he chooses at the time.

It looks like R&C will be nominating just the 3 teams this season, all that remains is for the committee to decide whether to enter the C grade in the 1 day comp or play in the normal 2 day comp.

Will be a different look A grade line up too I think..

Lightning are you doing odds and betting again this year? Any indication on early odds for Grade 1?

Bit hard to gauge just yet, trying to read in between the bullshit on here and what I've heard around the traps.
Westies: Seemed to have lost a couple and picked up a couple, Sewell to Eastern Park, Picton to Central United.
Angle Vale: I've heard bugger all, had arguably the best all-round bowling attack last season, I'd expect them to be up around the mark again this season.
Rosies: Lost Jimmy (for now), Bomber to Eastern Park, a couple of heavy losses, their bowling stocks don't seem to have the same venom, still ample batting though.
Virginia: Who knows? Possible return of Seccafien from Port Adelaide.
Units: Picton will strengthen them considerably, they have an abundance of talented youth out there.
Smithfield: Strong finish last season should boost some confidence, be good to get all players available for most of the games.
Billygoats: Lost Cree to GX oops, Pooraka, along with McNair, don't know of any gains yet.
Gardens: Apparently have lost Lynch and Hanson, two big losses for them and I'm not hearing a lot of positive things out there, hopefully they are just rumours.

Good write up LM.
Has there been any news/information on the SAMCA T20 knockout for this year? I see the churches already have their draw out.
