Word is fisticuffs.. if the rumours are believed behaviour all day was out of order.

More importantly, for tipping sake, do we award the Units the win using the D-L system?

Give it to Units, would’ve taken something catastrophic to lose from that position.

On a side note, is this the 3rd time a game has failed to be completed between Units & Hazara due to escalation?

All LO1 games get an official umpire?

Fortunately for Units it was Basil I believe.

Bit to play out here, I wonder if the PDCA are capable of managing it, or whether it will be pushed up the chain to SACA.

Side note, whilst I don’t think Units are innocent in their part, think this does highlight one of the many issues with pop up clubs. They mostly dont have good governance, their own real ground / club.. lacks integration and is isolated to a group of friends or select community group.. its not sustainable long term.. and whilst I haven’t had many issues over the years there is somewhat a lack of respect - for etiquette, for rules, for standards.. i

Yeah and the 25 meter circle / Leg side wides are being enforced.

Will make for some interesting scoring and maybe some long games.

There are a couple of clubs who went 4 or 5 on the boundary from over 2 or 3 last year, glad that wont be the case this year.

Well on a positive note the womens cricket kicks off tonight and we have 3 Grades again.

One concern is that for the 2nd season in succession the Grade 1 premiers aren't fielding a side in Grade 1, what makes it even stranger is that both times it has been a club that had two teams in Grade 1 and both their teams played finals, is two teams from the one club in Grade 1 a thing of the past?

Virginia fielding their first womens team(s), straight to Grade 1 too, good on them. It's a bit of a hybrid team with someone from Angle Vale, Elaine and her daughter, a couple from Eastern Park and a couple form Smithfield.

The Royals return to Grade 1 but I have no idea who they have got playing for them, I'll know in a few hours, Westies have picked up a couple while Fitzroy and Smithfield pretty much remain the same.

I haven't seen The Prince's press conference but they posted 179 and the PGCC Titans chased them down in the 31st over losing 4 wickets along the way.

So there has been a de-registration, 18 match ban, multiple 14 match bans handed down from the weekends match? Anywhere one can read the penalties?

Clubs put on a good behaviour bonds as per the PDCA Facebook post.

It'll be interesting to see how Hazara recover and if they're able to field a side moving forward - I heard in the vicinity of 7 players were suspended.

The sceptic in me thinks they may just end up playing under a different name, and no one will know.. also part of the challenge when the broader community don't know who was suspended or for how long.

Will also be interesting to see how the Units recover.

Last Saturday morning they were still crying out for a player to make a side. If they've had a few every week cricketers suspended, how are they going to get a team??

I don't know if last Saturday was a one-off struggle for a team but just saw a few of their players posting.

That has happened in the amateur soccer leagues in SA for a very long time and caused lots of issues. SAASL have never seemed to found a clause around it either to stop clubs re-inventing themselves.

DJ McIntyre to come out of retirement and save the day! :D

I believe they've only lost 2x players for the season - Woody + Kershaw - Deeble gone until xmas.

They needed a player for one week due to a wedding, they don't have shortage.

They will however be without a couple of key players for the season.
