Heard word from a reliable source that Lynch from Parafield Gardens has moved on to Pooraka. If shane hanson has also gone, that leaves them without a strike bowler and a quality top order batsman, could make for a difficult season for the Gardens boys

I heard Lynch to Salisbury West. Looks by all the rumours he won't be at the Gardens but could play at a number of clubs.
Time will tell with only 3 weeks till the season has started.

seems One Tree Hill may not be losing as many players as rumour says. just heard today that one player, that was previously stated on this forum as possibly leaving, has decided to stay up the hill. im sure everyone at the club is happy to have him stay, was a key player in last years A grade and hopefully he continues to be that key player for years to come.

I would usually be the one for pushing training to start or be the one wanting to talk to new recruits. I just can't be ******.. Hopefully I get keen very soon..sals west are used of being fav so it's just another waste of 14 games for them ;)

I'm experiencing the opposite for a change, I've got itchy feet and am excited about round 1, I've been bowling well and know it's my only hope of playing A's, positions are going to be tough for a pleasant change and I want to be in the team for a role to play other than a captain.
Bring it on, there's a real buzz around the place atm, something that pre-season doesn't really have generally.

LM, i thought your bowling days were over....(bowling your left arm quick stuff that is). Is the body and injuries at a managable level to allow you to delve back into the old school days? Body's not getting any younger mate. If you are bowling your pace, which current PDCA player would you compare your speed to at this stage of proceedings?

Ben McMullen from Riverside is the quickest I saw last season. Never saw so many top order batsmen shake their heads at what they didn't see. Developed a bit of osteitis pubis about halfway through the season and lost some pace and form, but @#$%^ frightening when fully fit

I thought Ben was pretty sharp when I faced him a couple of years back, he sconned me in the forearm and broke the ulna bone, there was an instant golf ball sticking out, he then bowled me a bit of a beamer which I managed to slice over backward point and it landed in the carpark at Smithfield Oval on the full just from using his pace.
He lacked control but I thought he was pretty sharp, no one else in the side commented much on it though so I thought I must've had a one beer too many beforehand.
Like I said before FL, I never faced myself so I'm not one to judge on pace, I just enjoyed sending them down from the creek end at Smithfield Oval and having a bit of banter in between.

I find it interesting how late people leave their decision making to where they are playing nowadays, are they shopping around to see what clubs think they are worth? It makes it hard to determine what players you need to complete your playing list, the last thing you wanna do is entice a recruit to come out and then have them playing B's.
Although we didn't set the world alight last season we gained a lot from the experience and more importantly, the kids that played gained a lot, we know what we lacked and hopefully we've filled these gaps.

I honestly couldn't see how either party could gain anything from this, Lynch needs the new ball and wouldn't get it ahead of Davies, he also bowls long spells where Westies have great bowling depth and can afford to throw the ball around.
