Bradman Medal - This will be a great count, all four guys I have below have had form spots at different times through the year, could be a real yo-yo of a leader board!

1- Daniel Drew
Only concern here is that he will lose votes to Drennan in two games and also Ben Williams in one)

2- Conor McInerney
Poles max votes in at least three games, made big runs in games others didn't really contribute)

3- John Dalton
Weight of runs and a real purple patch early in 2017, but unfortuantely he plays with vote magnet Jake Brown and may lose crucial 1 and 2 vote games from the all rounder. Also loses a couple games to Opie I think.

Smokey- James Miller
Had a great start to the year, contributes in some way most weeks and finishes the year with max votes in Rd 12, could steal it late.

Gillespie Medal

Ben Pengelly
SACAs favourite young player at the moment. Made a big hundred early doors and has contributed with consistent starts since, will have a contract next season.

Talbot Smith

Will come down to two guys already mentioned, James Miller and Daniel Drew. Both the best fielders in good fielding sides, James Miller has won it before and from all accounts he's had another blinder yeah, he's my pick. Tim Evans a chance if the umpires look at the number of catches he's taken in the slips but that usually isn't the case.

CW Walker

Brad Davis
Hasn't won this yet, but kept well in the handful of games I saw, plus another year in the runs should help him out.

Anyone have a smiley for the Bradman? Drew/Dalton seem to be the popular picks when I ask around, not as straight forward a count as last year though!

Gillespie Medal - only two choices, but I think Jake Winter from Bays will win, made more runs than Pengelly, and although his form did drop off after Xmas, think he deserves it.

Talbot and Walker - they are really pot luck these two, some of the votes given in previous years begger belief, how the umpires see things. Keepers need to play all 12 games to have a chance, so probably rules out Nielsen, but Davis would be popular winner.

Smokey for Bradman - will stick with Nick Winter from Uni, may get max 6 votes in three games, and think 25 votes may win, Still think with Kensy and WT winning so many games that Dalton and Drew quinella will happen.

Yep, top 5 finish for sure. Did not arrive till Round 4 and they won one game, but nobody else from Prospect will poll.

Agree 25 votes wins it. Certainly brings a lot more players into contention, and also more likely a roughie wins it too. Few mentioning Miller, reckon he will start with a bang, then goes missing till last Round, so around 18 votes for me at best. Umpires love all rounders though so helps him and Brown.

The Rising Star Award. Every week SACA nominate a player for this Award, and they will pick one player from the group to win. Need to be under the age of 23 and have played less than 20 1st Grade games at start of year. Out of Winter and Pengelly this year, thinking Winter just wins.

Will do, but wont poll after Xmas, once Neate hit him in head, he scored four runs for rest of season in five games, totally lost confidence.

Davis poll most of their votes, and Alex Gregory had couple of stand out games too.

Late mail from Bradman is down to top four and few surprises, no Dalton in top four is staggering!

Out of Daniel Drew, Nick Winter, James Miller and Josh Barrett.

Plus Winter from Uni.

Picked it bar one (had Dick instead of McCormack), but in hindsight would have had Brad Davis maybe.

Think they got the team spot on, maybe the keeper was debatable with Leigh Drennan winning the Walker trophy, could have got in ahead of Nielsen, but having said that I picked Harry too.

Referring to Northern Districts I presume? They are a complete rabble at the moment, strong rumours last night that Cosgrove (and another senior player - not sure who) is leaving next year too. That would just about be the death knell for them, especially as his parents have run that Club for so many years.

Marks also on his way to Pooraka from ND but for about $6k.

Maybe SACA should sort this mess out instead of creating a club in Mount Barker.....

You guys are on the ball. Thought Marks would be the other one as he is so busy with work and cant commit to training anymore. Must be a wealthy Club Pooraka! Will make them unbeatable next year!

Agree with Heater, SACA really need to sort out Northerns, before worrying about an Under 19 team or Mount Barker option!
