I was just there after our 16s played and seen the Freeling supporters turn up which I think was their A4 team and they were straight into the Ango lads (even while Ango were warming up) , not one word was said back to them. But they were yelling stuff all day which I didn't have a issue with until after the game a Angaston guy yelled out to them something about them having imports and all Hell broke lose.
I just feel if your going to give it (all day) then be willing to take it .
And as for the bad losers , more than half their spectators were yelling out for their players not to shake Ango players hands after one drunken comment ... Pppleeeaassseeee!!!! But in the end commen sense provailed and things were resolved fairly quickly.
Was just voicing my opinion

i was there all day and didnt see half of this but anyway. Couldnt find anyone to represent your club at the presos last night there paid cricketer?

Trust me Useless this was happening, but it was a GREAT atmosphere. If you can't cop a few A4 cricketers giving u a hard time as a A1 cricketer your not gonna play too Many A grade games. You cop a bit more than that out in the middle.

I'll defend the freeling people as they thought our "very drunk" supporter said something that would have been very inappropriate but when explained what he said, it was all sweet.

Well done to Mulchy last night too, deservent winner of the mosey..

Well Done to all premiership winning teams and captains.

Off the top of my head the TOTY went something like the below:

Greg Bain (Ang)
Kym Vandelaur (GV)
Mark Johnston (Kap)
Ben Parish (Free)
Raed Hannun (Free)
Chris McLean (SC)
Ben Burgess (Ang)
Robbie Johnston (Kap)
Brett Woodards (Ang)
Daniel Doecke (Nuri)
Patrick White (SG)
Lee Hill (SC)

Mark Johnston was the Mosey medalist

When is the AGM?
Any idea what the makeup of the comp will be like or are the rumours of a 10 or 12 team A1 comp just pub rumours?

Theres a proposal put forward for it change to a 12 team A1 comp, which brings with it a whole lot of problems yet to be thought about.

Not sure what is actually wrong with the current system - unless one of the current A1r teams are folding?

Id imagine its being driven by clubs that were relegated or worried about being relegated

don't know why some clubs wanna keep changing things the system works if wiilaston get in which they will the A1 res wont have a bye there will be 8 sides

Couldnt agree more, we have a A1 comp that has teams competing right up until the final 2 rounds due to relegation and finals, this provides a strong comp and avoids the potential of other players dropping down to play in the lower divisions just play finals. Works well. The other point is we current have an even draw if we move to more teams this isnt possible unless we play more one day cricket.

A2s was pretty competitive too, which would likely change a bit

I guess it would be handy if Willaston are able to join in but I heard that they did not want to start out in A1R. This would then leave 7 teams in A1R and a bye (which means less cricket). Also unclear on whether they can get a pitch sorted in time...

I've also heard that Truro wanted to go down to A2 which would leave only 6 sides in A1R if it happened and this would not be ideal...

At the end of the day if it is 8 and 8 then that's not so bad although the draw will never be even due to weather. For example, we did not get to play South in a two-dayer last year...

That is the most ridiculous comment ive ever heard that the draw will never be even. The draw is even. there is a massive difference between creating an uneven draw and having one forced upon the teams do to weather. One is within your control the other isnt. Why would you create an uneven draw? when you have the opportunity to have an even one??

i think it is terrible that clubs suddenly raise the issue around a 10 team A1 comp when they get relegated, just so they can come. How about considering whats best for the comp overall.

Name when the last season was that it was actually even? It is no point saying we should have an even comp when it has never ended up that way...

Also, for the record, we put our proposal forward for 10 team comp after discussing Kapunda's for 12 team comp. They put the first suggestion in, we just thought we may as well have a couple of options to choose from...

Seems like things are staying exactly as they are and there will be no changes to the A1 setup
