Anyone from the Bays that can give some advice on the state of the pitch? With the recent weather (and forecast showing showers every day up to Sunday), would be interested to know how much (if any) preparation can be done / has been done for this week's game vs McLaren.. I reckon it has been a long time since both days of a game have been washed out due to rain. I'm sure both sides itching to actually get a game going..

yes well done to the maroons with a very deserving win, just went about their buisness with no fuss! simon binns showed once again with his experience why he is one of the better players in mt compass and the gsca. On the golds defence they cant expect to win games as easily when loosing 3 high quality players in Mcmillan, Tommo and Num and expect the lesser players to instantly maintain the standard what they have left off :D

the day went quiet well but some poor keeping from a goolwa youngster cost us a good shot dropping there opener who went on to make 80 murray towns were a great batting team and with soaked burgess mats it didnt help the crays cause with a score of 5 for 239 off 47 overs....and in reply there was no rain for us boys with chad franceshini opening up wonderfully he is a tallented young cricketer!! belting there bowlers al over the place andy evans showed why hes captain making 65 runs in a spirtied batting chase the other bats more or less failed,.....all out for 195 ...a. Evans 65, C Franceshini 30, s. pistilli 26 and h. robertson with 22 will be good to see the players that didnt play get in in a fortnights time and someone teach that ward kid to keep dropping dollys wont keep ya spot in a strong baby crays team

Not sure about Ward as a keeper, big drop from emmitt who kept so we for the u/21s the last 3 or 4 yrs! Chad Franceschini could be an option, as he has done a good job for us with the gloves on saturdays! think he would much prefer to be out in the field tho, is another handy bowling option also. What about young Natale, hes a keeper isnt he? or did he not play? Did rhys "zooter" muter play again this year? after he dominated the u/21s games last year, taking a 3/30 & 4/30 in both of the prelim games!

Would be intersting to see a list of the 11 or 12 players that represented the mighty crays on the weekend!

Can Not believe the names missing out off compass from last years A & B Finals Teams especially now that Tommo & Dizzy are missing. Num, McMillan, Prizibilla, Braidwood, Geoff Anderson, Boyde Millar, Mark Kittel, Mathew Hosking, Brian Faulkner. That is a whole team. Anyone from Compass (Sherminator) tell us if the exodus of players was known before they chose to have 2 A Grade teams or was it a case of a President with a big head to go with his big body. ~x( =))

to take over jack ward ....dunno if he wasnt hung over maybe he would have done better but i recon either A.hunter from compass or chad although chad is great in the field and jack ward is a good batter too so hard to say who would fill those massive boots

Some interesting games this round. Here's my tips;
A grade
Aldinga seem to have improved whilst Vale seem to have dropped off. Have to go with form - Aldinga
Goolwa will struggle against Bays bowling. No Evans, will Rocky be captain - Bays
Binns the dominator with Bat & Bartschy the destroyer with Ball. - Maroons
With Num gone there has to be questions on Choppers Fitness levels now :lol: - Willunga

B grade
Aldinga with home ground advantage & Goolwa B's to fill gaps for their A's - Aldinga
Bays bowling & Hendo to fire with Bat should be too much for Vale - Bays
Who cares about the Pongy's, C'mon Victor. Hope Hastings can rip through them - Victor
Willunga's star studded B grade line up will be far too good for Yank - Willunga

After the bath Ward just got on this forums, it has been anounced he is retiring from all forms of the game. He'd probably like to thank the support he's had from his captain, and experianced veteran of the goolwa cricket club, Rocky B.

P.S Although figures don't back it up, Galletly was the pick of the bowlers for the under 21's on sunday, as well as the captain A Evans who hit some form with not only the bat but the ball. The baby crays put up a good fight, and the costly drop of the opener 0 who went on to make 80 odd, probably was the difference. :( :( :( :(
