Thanks LM, how generous. How about another $50 cyber bucks for picking all 16 correct, you will get it back anyway. Busy at work this week?

Yeah, no probs, 50 cyber bucks added on, I'm in the festive spirit. A bit quieter here this week, had strikes on all over the country for the first few weeks of December, I should've been sitting back sipping on Pina Colada's for this week, instead we're trying to catch up.

Cheers mate good wrap up of grade 1.

Grade 2
Premiership Table
Central United 77.44
Brahma Lodge 60.49
Craigmore 60.39
Salisbury West 47.33

Salisbury North 42.98
Riverside 36.90
ATCO 32.22
One Tree Hill 31.93

Mid-season review
Central United would have to be clear favourites, they recorded some good wins last season and appeared to be full of young talented cricketers, these players are now maturing and along with the experience around the place they seem to have a good blend and a winning formula.
Brahma Lodge have been the surprise packet so far this season which would be pleasing for them to have depth for their senior side and they are closely followed by Craigmore who I'd expect to be 2nd favourites given the experience they have in their playing group, throw in the fact that between them and the Units they have 6 of the top 10 runscorers so far this season.
One would think that Westies will continue to use this grade to develop their youth, Salisbury North will be likely to taper off come closer to football season and Riverside's back 7 will be anyone's guess. They continue to dissapoint, after seeing them last season I thought they were one of the better teams in Grade 2 yet they landed on Community Chest and picked up a "Get out of Relegation Free" card, they have some real talent in their side but for some reason don't win as many games as they should.
ATCO have been disappointing, their B's seem to be travelling well and some names down there you would think would be in their first XI. One Tree Hill seem to be struggling with the vigours of having sides in the top two grades but nevertheless have produced some pleasing results.

Do you know something about Salisbury Nth and their footy commitments LM.

I agree with your comments about Riverside, they should win more games than they do and probably struggle a bit with some depth.

Runs on the board is unfortunately going to be an issue for our side. We have some good bowling options and the fielding has been of a pretty good standard (except for the odd dropped catch, which you cant afford in grade 2) If 2 or 3 people started contributing 20's and 30's consistently with the bat I think we could be competitive with everyone in this grade.

GRADE 3
Eastern Park 66.42
Central United 63.76
ATCO 57.37
Smithfield 46.43

Playford 45.41
Craigmore 44.29
Parafield Gardens 37.94
Angle Vale 22.86

Mid-season review
It's no surprise to me to see Eastern Park at the top of the table, they showed glimpses of raw talent in Grade 2 last season. They have an exciting list and I'm sure Super will get the best out of them. I was expecting young Rory Andrews to have a few more wickets than he has but it seems as though have an even spread of contributors with the ball. Great to see young DJ getting amongst the wickets, he has an excellent attitude towards his cricket.
Central United have been a credit to themselves aswell, once again having a good blend of experience and youth has seen them perform admirably this season and could pose as Eastern Park's major threat. Having the experienced Walk's as their captain will keep them disciplined and he can bowl within himself for long spells.
As stated before, ATCO's B Grade seems to be as strong as their A's, they do have an ageing side though so maybe they are just trying to fast-track some youth into their 1's. Given the side they selected in round 7 I'd imagine they'd be well around the mark come finals time. Sutton, Brooks, Santini and BT are all accomplished cricketers and I can see them finishing top 3.
Smithfield have 3 of their batsmen in the top 10 run-scorers but seem to lack the ability to roll sides, a relatively young side and a tight knit group could see them around the mark finals time with players to drop back down from the A's after the break.
My real smokey here though is Playford, having the likes of Macartney x2 and Lubcke (who is one of the trickiest bowlers I've faced in the PDCA) I can see them pulling off some upsets to catapult them into the top 4.
Craigmore are the other team that I rate as a chance to play finals aswell, once again, a good blend of experience and youth, young French has led the way with the bat along with another youngster in Jackson, throw in Boomer and Moore and they can be very dangerous on their day.
Parafield Gardens were top after round two, I tink the Wizard put the kiss of death on them in one of his posts ;) , they have since lost 5 on the trot and have struggled to find consistent performers or have a settled side.
I don't know what to say about Angle Vale, their B Grade has always been a strong outfit for as long as I can remember, sitting winless at the bottom of the table would be unchartered waters for them.
Round 14 Predictions
Eastern Park

Grade 4
Rose & Crown 90.47
Salisbury West 80.49
North Pines 73.25
Two Wells 54.32

Virginia 48.92
Para Teachers 45.66
Salisbury North 35.53

Wasleys 20.78

Mid-season review
Pretty much a two horse race here with only North Pines to pose any threat, the big question is who will be hosting the double-header Grand Final, will it be at Ridley Reserve or at Londonderry Avenue, maybe the two clubs should cut a deal now and agree to play both Grade 1 & 4 GF's at the same venue should all 4 teams make it.
Rosies seem to be taking the bowling honours with 4 players in the top ten leading wickets whilst Westies have the top two run scorers. By the end of the season I'd be thinking that these two would have a fair gap on the rest of the wolf pack. Bedgegood, Howell, Cauchi & Mitchell have 72 wickets between them at an average of 8.54 for Rosies whereas between the two older stallions at Westies in Costanzo & Haythorpe they have compriled 1123 runs @ 74.87.
Rosies took the honours in the round 6 one-dayer at Salisbury West no.2 by 27 runs.
One would think that North Pines' A grade would be good enough to cement 3rd spot come seasons end and I'd say Para Teachers will push up and challenge Two Wells for the final spot in the 4 but they may rue the loss to Salisbury North back in round 3.
Virginia will find it hard to keep up with the pack as they have already played Wasleys in the two-dayer so they are going to have to find an outright somewhere else or cause an upset. Salisbury North will be competitive here and there and could possible cause some grief for the 3 vying for the 4th spot but in the end whoever gets it will only be making up the numbers. As for Wasleys, we can only hope they scrape together a win somewhere and save some grace, full credit to them, they have struggled for the past few seasons and continue to play in grades above their capabilities and don't ask the PDCA for favours.

Yes it is, he bowls with both arms aswell, he was playing grade 97 churches last year, we'd love to have him, every ball is full and does something different, very hard to score off.

I would say your grade 4 review is just about on the money.

I think from what i've seen Para Teachers would be a top 4 side, probably underperformed a bit though, but have pushed SW & NP in recent games. We have them 1st up after the break and im definately anticipating one of our toughest matches yet.

SW can have their big 2 batsman, im happy to have a batting side that appears so far to be consistant all the way down, and all very capable of making some runs with 10 blokes having a HS of 40 or more.

You guys seem to have an even spread in all disciplines of the game, you'd have Farrah at your disposal come finals time aswell.

Al Lubcke bowled with both arms against us in round 1 depending on whether it was a left or right arm batsmen. He bowled just as well with either.

Came with a bit of a rep with the bat as well but has failed to deliver at this stage but if he can get going with the bat that would make Playford even more dangerous.

They will also get more game time out of Matty Hunt after xmas as well.

Playford are definatly a team that if they make the 4 could go on to win the thing. Are better suited to the 2 dayers as well as they lack bowling depth.
