Seems everyone's complaining about the deck except for B/Lodge but you take your advantage and run with it.
We will have to agree to disagree on this one so enough said coz we are beatn a dead horse.

good to here mate!! just looking through your side on pdca its a very different side to what you had last year i know you were not captain but seems only about 3 players from last year where did the rest go?? i thought for a div 4 side there were some good older players in the side last year!!

You'll prob find most are playing in the one day comp in the D grade. We picked up a lot of young blokes who are pretty good and with the A grade getting blokes like Daniel Jenner, Ben Stama, Bomber and Jimmy McCarthy obviously few blokes filtered back down to the B grade make us very strong.

just looking through the div 8 sides there are some very good players down there what do you think of these guys

Because the surface at Greenwith is nothing like any other matting. It's not the issue of it being permanent. Whoop Chook anyway, you're just flogging a dead horse now.

GRADE 1
Premiership Table
Rose & Crown 73.75
Brahma Lodge 66.26
Salisbury West 60.68
Virginia 52.83

One Tree Hill 51.54
Angle Vale 49.24
Smithfield 30.51
Parafield Gardens 28.43

Mid-season Review
Rosies: Despite losing their first round to Salisbury West they have bounced back nicely to be 6 & 1 at the half-way point and are definetely the in-form side. Pretty solid batting from their top order led by Stamatovich and Brookes who have been well supported by the Jenner brothers. Considering that Morton and Bomber haven't really set the world alight yet I'd expect them to feature in the runs in the back 7. A very formidable batting line-up complimented by their bowling attack led by Jimmy McCarthy and well supported by R.Figallo, Kent & Stamatovich of late, look out if Feltus makes a return before season's end aswell.
Rosies are deservedly Premiership favourites at this stage and round 8 will be a good test of where they are at.
Lodge: A pretty solid all-round team that have lost the "one man band" tag, Groover has led the way with the bat along with the ever-reliable Sibbick who has chipped in with some handy knocks. I'd be expecting better returns from Richardson, Hargreaves and Brown for the run home to make them a dangerous outfit come finals time.
Although they are lacking a main strike bowler they have enough line and length bowlers to pick up consistent wickets as we've seen so far with Sibbs and Browny along with Huitema who is finding his straps.
A top 4 finish is well and truly on the cards and they definetely have the talent to push any side.
Westies: Sitting 3rd at the moment despite not really going into over-drive yet, with a top-order comprising of Ozolins, Willie Sewell, Scotty Mac and Parkhouse, mix that in with the all-rounders and they are definitely a very dangerous outfit. The most pleasing factor is the introduction of youth that Westies keep producing to maintain a high level of depth for their club.
On the bowling side of things, an attack that has McInnes, Davies and Picton in it is always going to make teams earn their runs.
I'd be execting Westies to be the ones taking on Rosies in the GF.
Virgina: Probably recorded their best win ever in Grade 1 when they defeated Westies at home outright, a hit or miss team that can be devastating, consistency is an obvious flaw they have in their game.
Bascombe has been sensational with the bat, Leo and Johnny Natsias have chipped in but haven't produced the scores we've come to expect. Leo and Warren have been the standout bowlers so far along with Johnny who has made some contribution with the ball.
It's hard to predict where they will finish, they are big game players but as stated earlier, lack consistency, they will be one of three teams vying for that final spot in the top four.
Billiegoats: On paper they look to be a very dangerous side, they are just struggling to post big scores. They have the fire-power with Fantasia, Scott, McNair, Kite and Smith but fail to all fire together.
Their bowling attack is not too shabby either, a pretty even spread of wicket-takers all with commendable averages and arguably the best spinner in the comp in Hanisch.
They have found that winning feeling recently with two on the trot and maybe it was the little shove they need to kick-start their season, could still be a smokey.
Angle Vale: Probably rely on too few to do all the work, have struggled to get consistent runs with Peter Carman being the exception. Having said that, Pogas, Andrew Carman and Cahill have provided good support at times.
They seem to have a strong bowling attack, perhaps lacking a bit of variation, J.Carman has been a revelation with 32 wickets so far and provided them with some real spark.
These guys too have the ability to push for that final top 4 spot, once again, consistency will be the key.
Smitty: It's been a somewhat disappointing season so far as they seem to be relying to heavily on Morris to score their runs, Hannun has been down on form so far this season and they really need his input to threaten sides. Their flambouyant batting style isn't working and perhaps getting back to the basics could see them bat their full allotment of overs which is obviously imperative in Grade 1.
The bowling stocks have been tested since Bateson has become unavailable and losing Newman for the last two rounds didn't help also. Shane Rundle has been a consistent performer with the ball and has epitomised the value of line and length bowling in Grade 1.
They still have the squad to surprise a couple sides and jag upsets, they just need to bat around Morris and Hannun and form partnerships.
The Gardens: Simply lacking in consistent runs scorers, they have Hillen, Hanson and Wills that are all capable but aren't producing decent totals often enough.
Not having Pargaliti for the first two rounds probably kicked them in the nuts a bit as him and Lynch bowl well in tandem, having said that, he has still picked up 15 wickets in the 5 games he has played, Larry King has been a handy contributor with the ball also picking up 12 wickets so far.
One hopes the schlacking they got from Salisbury West didn't sap up too much confidence or team morale, they are better than that and they seemed to find some long lost belief in themselves when they knocked off Smithfield.

Predicted table after round 14.
Rosies
Westies
Lodge
Goats
Angle Vale
Virginia
Smithfield
Gardens

Yeah, no probs, 50 cyber bucks added on, I'm in the festive spirit. A bit quieter here this week, had strikes on all over the country for the first few weeks of December, I should've been sitting back sipping on Pina Colada's for this week, instead we're trying to catch up.
