I strongly disagree with this rule.
Clubs are striving to have a good night after games and do awards etc. These players may stay have a couple and be gone by 4 not to be seen for the rest awards and teas. We as a club charge $10 a week how do we charge players when they may only play 1/2 day on the 2nd week. Many more points i could bring up.
ANYONE got any THOUGHTS

The LO comps do have a lot of guys just wanting to play one day cricket. The LOA comp is of pretty high standard and to a lesser extent so is the LOB's.

i have heard that the LOAs is very strong with a big step down to Bs where teams lack depth in players. is LOA considered as high standard as A2? is there a seperate LO turf cricket blog that this is discussed on?

My Grade club put a side in the LO's last season playing with mainly with kids too old for 16s plus a few older blokes who for one reason or another was on available for 1 week of a 2 week game in the SACA comp. think we were put in the Bs comp and by looking at the results of the side the top teams were good then towards the middle it fell away with sides lacking depth.
I played one game and took 6 for stuff all on a very dodgy track just rolling the arm overnever played again for the rest of the year.
back to the issue of the 2 day stuff. IMHO it defeats the purpose of playing 2 day cricket. If you want to pull up stumps after the result is decided then it possibly better off playing LO's every week.

I have a feeling some people may want to turn the comp into onedayers from premier grade down in the future. Why dont the clubs get a survey or something to fill out re changes. clubs are the association.
Any thoughts from any other turf clubs or players

I don't think they are trying to turn it into 1 dayers. How often is a game over at tea on the second week and everyone bitch and moans about playing the last couple of sessions? The ATCA has been told by clubs they are finding it hard to find fill in players. I think they are trying to make it more appealling to the lower grades in getting fill in players. Players leaving early is common in D's and then when the opposition smash you all over the park in the 2nd innings and your fill ins players say stuff staying when others nick off early, will they roll up again to help a mate out? Hard wickets comps call it off if no outright result is possible and work points on a quosion (spelling??). Personally I think it may work in C grade but in A B grade it should definately stay as is.
