Is Mick playing still? i know his elbow was still shagged a few months ago

Yeah its Matt, bowling ok as well. Mick is playing B grade as a batsman, had some shot on his shoulder last week, is having few more plus physio and gym for it hopefully it'll get better sooner rather than later

Matt Feltus certainly hit them clean on Sat although we bowled poorly against him and overall for that matter. We should learn from the experience next time we play you guys and will put on a better bowling display, especially given we will have a couple of handy bowlers back after Xmas.

Eastern Park seems the length of Flemington ahead of anyone in Grade 2 so far this season, it is a marathon not a sprint though.

How is it an unfair assessment? :?

For them both to come in and play the Grand Finallists so soon, there seemed to be good scores posted all round, a good day for batting it seems.
I do think the batting in the comp is stronger than the bowling, there's a lot of good line and length bowlers but not many standout express bowlers.

To his credit though he did play himself in early and set himself up nicely, granted the last 10 overs the bowling wasn't outstanding but he was seeing them like beachballs and seemed no matted where the ball was put it was getting dispatched.

I think from memory he spent about 10 overs or so sitting below 10 runs, and then exploded.

You weren't helped by the ground either, quickest i've seen it in a while and once it was past the fielders it was gone. You should enjoy the same conditions this weekend and get good value for your shots, i wouldn't be suprised in the slightest if your scored between 200 - 250, but im not going to suggest you can chase our score that would be stupid of me!

I agree. Unfortunately we are expecting a bit of rain later in the week so it will probably slow up a little. Very short boundries on the side as well but if i was to steel LMs thunder and make some odds....R&C would be $1.10 and CCC would be $6.50!

How'd Johnny Williams go on the weekend, made some terrible decisions in the Smithfield vs Eastern Park match, had a player on the arse end of a beamer from a pace bowler hit it straight up in the air and was given out. The EP boys had a fair laugh about it but Johnny was adamant it was a legal delivery and then lodged a report because he was questioned.
I think Johnny usually goes alright but he made some costly errors, young Jai got a thick edge to the keeper when he was in his 20's and got away with it then went on to make 118, it happens but the beamer was a friggin joke.

I didnt think he had alot to do really. Gave an LBW shout no out as he thought it hit bat first which looked pretty plumb, didnt matter much because the very next ball the fella on strike was given out LBW when he clearly hit it first - the old square up.

He did mention the beamer though - something about the bowler getting in the way and him not really being able to see?? Heard Shane was pretty disappointed over it.

Pretty sure Feltus copped a beamer that wasn't called as well - didnt matter because he hit it for 4, but still..

Had a week to think of an excuse, there were no excuses, he told me he didn't think it was over waist height, I told him I thought it was a very poor decision and then he finished his beer and left.
I speak my mind and sometimes I offend, but at the end of the day when you stuff up you should fess up and not defend an idiotic decision, to lodge an official complaint about it got up my goat a bit further as surely by the reaction of the EP boys he should've gathered he messed it up.
Whilst on umpires, I've always been critical of Frank Brown, I hadn't seen him umpire for some time but in round 1 I thought he was fantastic in the Grade 3 game, I did let him know.

Correct, that one was a no ball! Ive found over the past few seasons most umpires are reluctant to call no ball for the above waist high full toss....if borderline then id rather see it called because its the last thing the batsman expects and can do some damage even if on the waist line. Also doesnt really deserve a wicket being that shit of a ball does it?
