Rose Park and NEK fought out a close contest, with the momentum of the match swinging each way till the final run. NEK batted first and lost some early wickets and looked in trouble despite Peter Atkins contribution of 50. Balding never got going and when he was dismissed for 22 a small total seemed likely until the NEK tail wagged and got itself all out in the 38th over for 174. Jeff Clarke the pick of the Rose Park bowlers with 3 wickets. Rose Park made a mess of what appeared a very gettable chase, being reduced for 5/65 although Jeff Aplin put in some solid resistance for 34. When new recruits Bruce-Gordon and Larking began their Rose Park careers with ducks all appeared lost until Clarke and Michael 'Hooter' Hassett came to the rescue. Clarke was the match winner (Hope my Brownlow pick got the 3 George ;) ) smashing 48 in quick time and was ably supported by Hassett's 30 not out to get Rose Park home by 2 wickets with 2 overs to spare.

Great summary of the game!

With new recruit Pipers starring behind the stumps! Fitzroy made 101 and then we chased it down with J Borgas among the runs (as predicted by Auto).

Our 3rd XI had either a forfeit win or abandoned game depending on the final ruling. Wingfield turned up with only 2 players and then tried to say that the ground was unplayable, when we had no issues with it at all (It was fine for the scratch match we had between ourselves after that)
Very disappointing outcome. :(

Great effort by our Bs - for those wondering the 5 AC Blues recruits were named in our Cs, so our Bs were a mixture of Bs from last year, a few recruits and former player Jared Semmler who I believe made 99 in his comeback game!

Adelaide Lutheran were sent in to bat and made 5/240 odd after being 3/30 odd early on and then entered Girdner and Semmler(teeing off at a driving range comes to mind, very impressive!) who got 99 and 80 respectively with Gully being the main wicket taker with 2 and in reply Enfield were all out for 210 in the last over with M.Johns making a very quick 62, C.Davids 35,with the main wicket taker being Girdner with 4 to earn himself MOTM honours. Enfield B and C's both won.

Fitzroy lost to Lutheran by 4 wickets.
Batting first, we had a really slow start. I'm not sure if we even scored 40 runs after the first 20 overs.
Being 8/57, we were pretty lucky to get to 101. Giggs batted well with the tail to make 40odd.
Borgy batted really well yesterday for Lutheran. He was there from start to finish to get 42*
Wickets were shared between us. Aaron Roling was the pick of the bowlers.
It's Somma Time!

Yes really sorry about that. We have 13 out this week including myself. Tried all week to get the numbers but in the end were 5 short. My apologies to paralowie again- hardly how you want to start the season

Exactly how we wanted to start the season. Had a mates buck show saturday, so would've had alot out ourselves.
